Following in The Footsteps of Her Louboutins, Doris Jacobs’ Daughters Are Up to The Challenge

Dallas luxury real estate maven Doris Jacobs is so iconic, we wish we could clone her.

As usual, Doris was a step ahead of us.

With daughters Kim Jacobs Calloway and Teffy Jacobs by her side, Doris has taken the Dallas-Fort Worth real estate world by storm, recently changing brokerages to Douglas Elliman

“When my daughters were in school, I was looking at homes for myself and decided a career in real estate would be a great way to continue pursuing my passion for architecture and interior design,” Doris said of entering the real estate industry more than 30 years ago. “My knowledge of Dallas’ unique neighborhoods and wealth of architectural styles from being a longtime resident was a perfect fit for spending my days helping clients sell or purchase homes.”

Growing up in the shadow of the “Queen of Beverly Drive,” Teffy and Kim say it seemed natural to follow in their mother’s high-heeled footsteps.

“Kim and I also share our mother’s same interest in architecture and design, so real estate was exciting to us,” Teffy said. “We love sharing this passion with her.”

Teffy works as vice president, and Kim is the senior vice president, of the Doris Jacobs Group.

This Mother’s Day the trio plans to go for brunch at Georgie’s in Travis Walk.

“We are looking forward to a special day celebrating our mother,” Teffy said.

Family Ties

The daughters say their mother taught them to treat others as they would like to be treated. Respect, trustworthiness, and integrity were important values to Doris Jacobs and her late husband, Jack, who served as executive vice president and founding partner of the Doris Jacobs Group until his death in 2018. The daughters say they were raised to serve others and give back to the community.

All three women agree that they work well together.

“In addition to sales, we all have different strengths,” Kim said. “[Our mother] has the most experience and truly has an encyclopedic knowledge of real estate. Because of our family bond, we easily recognize each other’s personal and professional strengths which allows us to flourish in our careers even more.”

The family members have a mutual admiration for one another — at home and at the office.

“We have always been a close-knit family,” Doris said. “We share the same values, have some of the same interests, and even live close to each other.”

That camaraderie translates to a winning team, the matriarch added.

“We all have different strengths, which, when combined, make us stronger, resulting in seamless and successful transactions for our happy clients,” she said.

A Learning Experience

The Jacobs women see each other every day and also talk several times a day “about work or just because we want to,” Teffy said.

“We have always admired our mother’s loyalty and dedication to her family along with her friends and clients,” Teffy added. “She has a great fashion sense and impeccable taste, which we have a passion for as well. Our mother is very social, outgoing, and has an outstanding work ethic.”

Like mother, like daughters.

“Teffy and Kim bring a fresh perspective to the table, which makes working closely an overall positive experience for our clients,” Doris said. “Kim is fabulous with architecture, design, and remodeling, and Teffy is as well, but is also tech-savvy and great with marketing. When you ask for one of us, you get all three of us. Together we make it happen for our clients.”

Doris treats all their clients like members of the family.

“We grew up watching her gentleness and she taught us how to be ladies,” Kim said.
