Eyes On The Prize: This Mother-Daughter Team Is Off To The Races This Mother’s Day

It might be a gamble to join your mother — or your daughter — in the family business, but Helen Johnson and daughter Tiffany Johnson Beecham do it like it’s nobody’s business.

“I have three daughters and we have all been very close throughout the years,” Johnson said. “There’s never a dull moment, and we’re always finding fun things to do together.”

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Johnson was working in mortgages about 20 years ago when a headhunter contacted her and asked if she was ready to move into the title business.

“I said yes, and that’s when all the fun started in real estate,” Johnson said.

Beecham joined her mom at the title company after she graduated college in 2007. The mother-daughter team now works together at Providence Title — mother in business development and daughter as an escrow officer.

“I was so excited when Tiffany was ready to transition to an escrow officer because I knew she loved working with people,” Johnson said. “She is very caring and I could trust her to get the job done. One of Tiffany’s many strengths is to make everyone happy. She makes it her top priority to make sure everyone has a stress-free experience and truly enjoys the closing.”

Beecham said she grew up around Realtors and it was a natural fit to join the industry. She describes her relationship with her mother as “inseparable, we’re two peas in a pod.”

“We both have a strong work ethic and always strive to be the best,” Beecham said. “We share similar goals and always want each other to succeed.”

Work Hard, Play Hard

On Mother’s Day, Johnson and Beecham plan to celebrate with an outing that’s become a family tradition — the races.

“As long as we’re in town for Mother’s Day, we’ll be at Lonestar Park sipping on a cocktail and betting on the ponies,” Beecham said. “All our family gets together for Mother’s Day. It’s a lot of fun; especially for all the children. My mom grew up with horses and was a barrel racer so she loves the horse races.”

And both Beecham and Johnson love a day at the office. Their team at Providence Title in Preston Center makes a workday feel more like family time. Beecham said she’s constantly learning from her mother’s leadership.

“I admire her confidence,” she said. “My mom is the strongest woman I know and she has worked so hard to make sure my sisters and I had a great life.”

Johnson also sees qualities in her daughter that give her tremendous pride.

“I admire Tiffany’s professionalism and dedication,” she said. “She won’t quit work at the end of the day until every email is answered and every phone call is returned.”

It’s a blessing to be able to work alongside your daughter, she added.

“Mother’s Day was always just about me, but now I am excited to share this special day with all three of my wonderful daughters-slash-mothers,” she said. “We always spend the day together doing something fun with all of the family, either swimming and cooking out or spending the day at the horse races.”

Could I ask you, when dealing with banks and wire transferring funds from the title company to customers’ bank accounts, when the wire amount exceeds the limit, is it still possible to transfer funds?
