If Homes Were People, These Far North Dallas Homes Would Be Twins

Share News:

There is a rare kind of twin called semi-identical twins that’s like a cross between fraternal and identical twins. There are only two sets identified in the world but if homes were people, these two homes would be set number three. Set apart by only a few square feet, these two homes are visually similar with red brick and tall two-story arches popular with 1990s homes. These similarly-sized homes were both built in 1991 and darn near the same house, but their prices are worlds apart.

This week’s Splurge versus Steal takes us to a small neighborhood of 1990s homes in Far North Dallas called Rosemeade Place. The neighborhood near President George Bush Turnpike and Midway Road is zoned for Plano ISD schools and these homes feed into 9 out of 10-ranked Plano West Senior High School. Here you’re well-positioned near two tollways that’ll get you to 35E, 121 (partly Sam Rayburn Tollway), and US 75 in 20 minutes or less. Basically any commute would be made easier by living here.

Now, I’ll be frank. Usually when I select homes for Splurge versus Steal, I choose homes that may be overlooked by some potential buyers. Maybe the home could use some cosmetic updates to bring it on-trend or it doesn’t show as well as a staged, detail-filled listing. And because of their no non-sense approach to buying homes, Opendoor listings often check those boxes above. It’s just usually those listings are the ”Steal” and not the ”Splurge.”
