Bubba Tudors a Tudor Home for His True Love, Bubbina

During the last six months of my tenure at CandysDirt.com, I have slowly learned the many different styles of homes. Tudors are my favorite. They remind me of the woodland cottages in Sleeping Beauty or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They have a distinctive style that makes them stand out.

This week’s home has a fairy-tale vibe that goes like this:

Bubbina sashays her way to her prince, Bubba, and says, “Hunny, I just love me that Tudor home. I just wish it was bigger.”

“Oh Bubbina,” Bubba replies as he flicks the stalk of wheat between his teeth while his thumbs are hooked securely around the straps of his bib overalls. ”You want a bigger Tudor? I’ll make that happen for you sugar plum. I’m going to Tudor the ever-loving crap out of this Tudor. When I’m done there’s not gonna be any Tudor home that’s been more Tudored than this one.”

Bubbina swoons.

And that is how we got the home featured in this week’s column. So we are all on the same page, what Bubba does to this house is pronounced “Two-durd”.

After dropping almost $550K, Bubba and Bubbina will own a six-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home that is 5,289 square feet and sits on a 3.24-acre lot. You will be able to find Bubba and Bubbina at 382 Michigan Ave, Monticello, Kentucky.

Now sitting on more than three acres of land, you would think Bubba could simply build-out while still keeping the original aesthetic. But not our Bubba. He had done him some thinkin’ and decided to build up and add little pointy peaks everywhere.

The only thing missing from this huge area is the basketball hoop. You will have to be careful because there is a step down from the hardwood floor to the tile floor. Let us also take a minute to appreciate Bubba’s light installation along one of the ceiling beams. Our Bubba has skills we never knew about.

Here is the dance hall portion of the home. Now I know you are wondering what purpose that balcony serves.

Well silly, it is so Bubba can be up there playing his banjo while Bubbina and their family of little Bubba’s and Bubbina’s dance around. Once they get tired they can just pull the murphy bed out of the wall and go to sleep.

Onto the bedroom and bathroom.

Now you would think with all the space Bubba has in the house, he would not have to stockpile his toilet paper next to the tub.

This must be the collapsin’ room that you use when you are so tired from walking around this ginormous house and cannot make it to either of the other two bedrooms that go through this one room.

Now for those cozy nights when Bubba and Bubbina want some alone time, they can just go downstairs to their basement.

What could possibly go wrong with a fireplace set next to laminate flooring?

“Oh Bubba,” Bubbina says as she stares lovingly into Bubba’s non-lazy eye. “I love my Tudored house. My daddy Cletus would be so proud of the home you’ve built for us.”

“Bubbina my darlin,’ I love you back even more. There’s not a house in this world that I wouldn’t Tudor for you.”

And so ends our fairy tale.
