Sleet And Snow Didn’t Stop These North Texas Realtors

As North Texas struggled with winter weather, the resilience of our real estate professionals was on full display.

While this was far from the snowpocalypse of last year, it only took a few hours of wintery mix to send our region into lockdown. And as roads remained impassable, our North Texas Realtors shared how they were able to get work done regardless.

Realtors Remain Resourceful

When inclement weather occurs, it often provides opportunities for the more industrious Realtors. Sure, it’s hard closing on a condo or showing a single-family Tudor when there’s a tundra in North Texas. But that doesn’t mean the wheels of real estate stop turning.

Since Realtors are business owners first and foremost, there are tons of back-of-house tasks to catch up on. While some may assume dreadful weather spell a day off in the real estate world, our reality is quite different. Whether it’s catching up on databases, connecting with new businesses, or calling clients, there are many tasks that need attention.

Working Through the Weather

Susan Withrow, a Realtor with JP & Associates specializing in the Bent Tree area of Dallas, has similar thoughts.

“Snow days force me to sit at my computer and work on my business rather than in my business,” she tells us.

For Susan, this weather is a great opportunity in increasing market awareness and gathering insight into her area.

“I’m working on my Google maps ads, creating market update videos for social media, and preparing CMA’s for potential buyers in my neighborhood,” she says.

And while Susan is able to stay cozy and creative in work-from-home mode, others are even braving the blizzard for their businesses.

Paige and Kurt Elliot of Elliot & Elliot Group worked both from and away from home.

“We had to check the faucets and pipes at a vacant property,” they say. “But otherwise, being able to work from home allows us to still get things done! Just had a condo go under contract and straight to pending! Currently, we’re also working on a Super Bowl mailing to our clients.”

No matter what, our North Texas Realtors find a way to remain productive. And while they’ve gotten used to working in red-hot markets, ice-cold weather has its own advantages.
