New Jersey Cabin is Perfect for Murder Mystery Sleuths

Share News:

One of the most popular shows in the ’80s was Murder, She Wrote. Angela Lansbury starred as Jessica Fletcher, a retired English teacher, mystery novelist, and amateur sleuth. One of the running jokes about Murder, She Wrote was that Jessica Fletcher was the kiss of death. Wherever she went, murder was sure to follow.

Assuming there was one murder per episode with 22/24 episodes per season and the series ran for 12 years that comes out to roughly 264 murders for the span of the show. Now you may be wondering why I am doing the math on the number of murders that occurred mostly in Cabot Cove.

The home featured in this week’s column could easily serve as a retreat of sorts for Jessica as she finishes out a novel. This cabin looks to be a trove of past, present and future murders. So when Jessica needs a break to clear up any writer’s block she may have, she will have her pick of murders to solve.

This cabin is sitting on almost 14 acres of land at 183 Hickory Corner Rd, Alexandria Township, New Jersey. The asking price is $315K.

This 3,648-square-foot cabin has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Construction on the cabin started in 2000 but was never finished.

All the building permits have been voided and the “buyer will be responsible to obtain all new permits.” Jessica will also “be responsible for all required inspections per the township at buyers’ expense.” Pulling permits and dealing with inspectors, that will chalk up at least another dozen murders or so at this property.

The blur of the photos help hide the leftover dust from the chalk outlines.

Now the one interesting thing about this log cabin is the staircase.

The staircase will be an obstacle for Jessica. She will think that the body at the bottom of the hand-crafted spiral staircase was murdered. When, in fact, they have fallen down and cracked their noggin on the massive post in the middle of the house. I do not know exactly what that post is but it continues down into the basement.

Look, it is right there in the middle of the stage that can be used for pole dancing or for a human sacrifice.

Let us check out the bedroom and bathroom.

Ooohhh the comforts of home.

Are we truly to believe that no one has been murdered in either bathroom?

Now I know what you are thinking. “How in the world is Jessica going to be able to focus on her writing with such a dark ambiance around her?”

Well, the property does sit on 14 acres of land so she can just take a stroll around her property.

Not even the photographer was willing to get closer to take this picture or see what is in there. That is a person who knows how not to become a murder mystery case for Jessica to solve.

Since I started following this cabin, there have been two price reductions. It is currently listed as a sale pending. Could it be that our lovely Jessica Fletcher has beat us to the punch and is buying this cabin as a retreat?
