Tony Visconti and the team at Bella Custom Homes just completed a new build-to-suit in Frisco, and the look is a little bit of a change for the veteran Dallas home builder.

“We’ve gotten a few comments from people surprised that Bella Custom Homes designed and built this home,” says Stacy Brotemarkle, vice president and lead interior designer. “They didn’t know we do transitional style homes.”

It’s true, Bella Custom Homes is most well-known for its classical architecture that brings a timeless and luxurious touch to luxury European design. But the team recently completed a home in Frisco’s gated community of The Hills of Kingswood that looks like it’s straight out of the pages of Veranda.

“The interiors of this custom-designed and built home are clean but welcoming, using black, white, golds, and greys throughout this beautiful home,” Brotemarkle says.

Step through the arched double iron front doors inside to find transitional elegance. In the Great Room, you will find a black marble and gold metal accented fireplace, along with built-in storage and floating shelves for display. The wide-plank, 7-inch European White Oak floors continue that contrast here and throughout the five-bedroom, 5,500-square-foot home.

In the Dining Room space, Brotemarkle helped her clients in choosing a breathtaking black color for the paneled wall (which the clients are actually using as a lounge), offering the perfect contrast against twin gold wall sconces and a dazzling starburst chandelier made of gold and crystal. It’s the perfect room for entertaining and enjoying a glass of wine with family and friends.

Here’s an idea you’ll want to steal for your kitchen if you haven’t already — double islands. Here, one island serves a more functional role for food prep with a dishwasher, hidden garbage bin, and a sink — a “working” island of sorts. The other parallel island can be used for entertaining and eating — the “display” island.

For the islands and countertops in the kitchen and throughout the house, Bella Custom Homes installed premium pure white quartz countertops, set against dark shaker-style cabinetry. There are plentiful drawers for utensils and serve ware and large cabinet storage for bulky appliances you don’t want to clutter your countertops with.

Bella’s clients also selected this pair of square acrylic and gold pendant lights with diamond cutouts and complementary gold and geode wall sconces that beautifully frame the premium full marble backsplash. The pot filler comes in handy when cooking, too.

More elegant fixtures and premium stone can be found in the home’s six baths, especially the primary suite which features a softer, earth-toned palate than the rest of the home. Brass and crystal sconces continue here with antique bronze fixtures and knobs, and tan-gray shaker cabinetry.

The floors and walls are particularly eye-catching with herringbone marble floors and a real work of art on the walls. Cut marble tiles are fashioned in a diamond repeat pattern and inlaid with brass borders. When natural light shines on those brass slivers, the pattern really pops.

“This transitional style home has modern amenities, like smart home technology, and it’s complete with a pool and spa and lush landscaping,” Visconti says. “Our clients are looking forward to making family memories for years to come here.”
