How Do You Show Off a Listing’s Features? With a Dog in a Tutu

“A photo of string lights definitely helps sell this home,” said no one ever.

“Objectivity is a noun that means a lack of bias, judgment, or prejudice.” That definition comes from www.vocabulary.com.

The definition of the word objectivity is going to weigh heavily when we discuss the home featured in this week’s column.

There are some professions that do not require objectivity. Anything to do with math, for example. Two plus two will always equal four. The latest trend does not make a difference because the answer will always be four.

Now listing agents, their profession demands that they be objective. If we want to sell our homes at the best price, we need their level of objectivity. I refuse to imagine what it would be like to try to sell my home without a professional, objective eye.

Oh, wait, my refusal is unnecessary because this week’s column is a perfect example of what I would highlight if I tried to sell my home myself.

I love string lights. When selling my home, I would definitely highlight the string lights.

These folks love their string lights, too. As you can see above, they are way better than a photo of the front of the home so you can see the curb appeal. I have string lights on my back deck as I type, and I love them.

This five-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home sits on a quarter of an acre and is almost 7,000 square feet. It is located at 21 Ellington Ave, Vernon, Connecticut. They were originally asking $325K but they have reduced the price to $299,990. Madness I tell you.

Look at this picture. The family dog is in a tutu by their pool at a party. I bet the party is for the dog. Instead of decreasing the price by $25,000 they should have increased it by $25,000 and thrown in the huge swan floatie for free. If the family dog in a tutu is not worth an additional $25,000 then I just do not know what is.

Let us move on to the kitchen.

Potato salad is going to be on the menu.

Basically, the photos with the listing really accentuate that the house is great for parties.

Merry Christmas Garden?

I am going to guess Boxing Day? I am open to other guesses though.

Dog in a tutu. Huge bottles of wine. Yeah, baby, these people know how to throw a party.

I know, I know enough of the funny pictures. You guys really want to see how the house looks.

objectivity, tutu

Yeah, that was me being a wisenheimer. This cannot be the house because they did not add any of the string lights to their painting.

Objectively speaking, this has been one of my favorite listings to write about because the photos do absolutely nothing to sell the house but you do get a peek into these homeowners. And, you can never go wrong with a picture of your dog in a tutu.

Okay, now this would be a little too much.

That is some serious passive/aggressiveness. “Short Sale? I’ll show YOU!”

Perhaps. I just really like the dog in the tutu. The dog has the perfect body for said tutu. He pulls off the look.
