Tony Nuncio just celebrated 18 years with Paragon Realtors. That’s quite an accomplishment in the world of real estate, where we see so many agents change brokerages as if they were dance partners. It speaks to what a good fit Tony is for Paragon and Paragon is for Tony.

One of Tony’s favorite listings this year.

CandysDirt.com: What’s the secret to staying at a brokerage this long?

Tony Nuncio: The same reason I stay is the same reason I joined. The company has been through some name changes, but it’s the same company, same broker-owner, and the same great agents. The training opportunities with regard to our business are great. We have always got some kind of training in the office, via Zoom, or through affiliated relationships with title companies and lenders. The camaraderie and the support system in the office are unmatched, in my opinion. It’s a sharing and caring atmosphere, and I picked up on that initially, and that same attitude has carried me through the last 18 years with the company.

CD: What are you most proud of that you’ve done while at Paragon?

TN:  I host an open forum discussion with anyone and everyone in the office, whether they are new or someone who just wants to join. It’s a two-hour freeform discussion, and we go over everything from specific issues that need input or share something we learned. It’s truly an open and informal discussion, and people look forward to it.

CD:  Tony, what’s your approach to real estate?

TN:  My basic approach is to consistently exceed expectations and provide my clients with the best quality service possible in the home buying or selling process. That goes with being responsive, providing knowledge both from an area perspective and a contract perspective. I’m available when my clients need me day or night.

CD: We’ve all been through a challenging and demanding time this past year. What changes have you made to deal with this?

TN: The goal this year was to start looking at expansion, and that’s what I’ve been concentrating on.  At the beginning of this year, the first thing I did was hire a full-time assistant, Oskar Novoa, who is licensed and an existing agent, and he already knows the business, which is extremely helpful. Then I added two new agents, De-Angelo Peoples, and Miyah Mitchell, to my team.

CD: You’ve been very successful on your own for years. How did you realize it was time to build a team?

TN: I was looking to the future when I may turn the business over to manage with my name yet put the briefcase away. An assistant helps you leverage your time better for your clients, which allows you to do more business. Adding team members allows you to grow your business in general. I am the one that usually likes to be in control of everything. I’ve learned to let go. Oskar has been great in telling me he can do things because I’ll just do it all. I’ve finally had to learn to delegate.

CD: What was the biggest revelation of having a team?

Tony Nuncio

TN: The biggest discovery is that I can absolutely take a long weekend off and not have to worry about my clients being properly handled. As you grow your team and become a unified front, you truly can grow your business. It’s about growing a brand as opposed to individual recognition.

CD: And how’s that going almost nine months into having a team?

TN: We are running on a record year from a volume perspective, excited about that and what that will bring in the future.

CD: So now that you can actually have that long weekend, what’s your favorite getaway?

TN: I go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Several friends own homes there. It’s a quick 2-hour flight, and people are friendly. The food is phenomenal, and the cost of living is incredible!
