This Los Angeles Home Was Built For a Certified Superfreak

You may have noticed by now that I just love cultural references. It is only natural being a child of the ’80s.

The shows were pretty funny, the movies were awesome, and the music always had a great beat.

When I saw the house featured in this week’s column I automatically thought of Rick James. Yeah, you read that right. Mr. Superfreak himself would have loved this house.

This is a classic California home that hangs off a cliff and dares the earthquakes to knock it off its pedestal. Look at her in all her fluorescent glory. The reward for pushing fate is a view that starts with downtown Los Angeles and ends at the Pacific Ocean.

This home, located at 2189 Sunset Plaza Drive in Los Angeles, California, has five bedrooms (many of which are themed), six bathrooms, a grotto, a casino, a two-floor disco, and oh so much more. This house was designed by an unnamed glamour photographer and is currently on the market for $11 million.

Tour time, my people.

While there are so many incredible pictures to choose from in this home, the one I keep coming back to is the grotto.

There is so much to take in with this one photo. Imagine you want to relax with a long soak and you are surrounded by at least a dozen pairs of bosoms. I stopped counting. Every time I thought I had seen them all I would find another pair. It’s like “Where’s Waldo” but with bosoms. Just what the hell kind of conversation do you have in a room like this one? There is just so much.

Let us move right along, shall we. I warn you, however,  brace.

Now, assuming your retinas have not been damaged beyond repair, there is no way you are sleeping in this room. You need to have your wits about you when the gigantic aliens in stilettos from the strip club above make their way down to your room. You never want to mess with any species in stilettos. That’s just a rule of the universe.

On to the bathrooms!

I would never find my way out of this shower. Goodbye cruel world.

The funniest thing about this room is that it looks like they bought the trash can at Walmart for $12.99 and failed to peel off the sticker.

For me, the highlight of this home continues to be the view which is where the pool is also located.

In all honesty, I had a good time looking at this home. My mind always takes me back to, “What would Rick James think?” Rick James fans know that answer.
