Can we just pretend last week didn’t happen? I guess one good thing about SNOVID-21 is that we stopped talking about COVID-19 for a while. Let’s get back to talking about homes!

As I was bundled up with my blankets and bow ties and bottles of freezing water I started thinking about where I would go just in case we were to experience another stretch of freezing temperatures.

The Bow Tie Home? No water or power. A hotel? Too expensive. Cabo? Wonder if anyone else considered a Mexico escape?

Every home needs a grand entrance, and this home has one for sure.

This Home Has Everything

Nope — I’ve figured it out and have already put my name on the reservation list. The next time we get any nasty weather, I am going to this unbelievable estate in the Westwyck Hills Addition of Southlake, Texas.

Magnificent kitchen with multiple islands and gourmet everything

If you’re going to be snowed in or rained in, or even if it’s too hot to go anywhere, this five-bedroom, six-and-one-half-bathroom home of 7,567 square feet is the perfect home for any season.

Must Haves in The Home

What are the “must-haves” in a home that would be required during another seven- to 10-day lockdown? Water. Heat. Space. Entertainment. Exercise areas. Yep, yep, and yep. This home has them all and so much more.

After last week you will never question why Texas homes have fireplaces will you? How many Instagram photos and stories did we see recently where families were snuggled by the fire or even using the living room fireplace to heat water or cook burgers?

There are two fireplaces under the covered patio

This Southlake estate has not one, not two, not three, but four fireplaces throughout the property! How beneficial would those have been during our extended period of extreme winter weather last week? Not only are there fireplaces, but plenty of areas of entertainment.

Enjoy binging every show in your private media room

Once you’ve seen every binge-worthy show on Netflix and Prime and you’re starting to get that sluggish feeling, have no fear because this home has its very own workout room.

You can see why I’m already on the reservation list for this home!

That’s right. While everyone else is complaining about seasonal weight gain on top of the quarantine 15, you can emerge from any seasonal catastrophe with a toned physique to the awe and dismay of your friends.

What if It’s Warm Outside?

If it’s not going to be considered a criminal activity to be outside for longer periods of time, enjoy the private pool, spa, firepit and deep covered patios.

Furthermore, if you are a “car person” and like those toys that go “vrrrroomm” just wait until you see the six, (yes I said six) covered spaces for your favorite ride.

Have six vehicles? Perfect. This estate has a six-car garage.

Just Want to Relax?

OK, so we’ve seen all the areas of fun and play and time-wasting in this home, so should we get SNOVID-22 or another quarantine mandate (don’t even!), what if you just want to chill?

Chill at your very own bar if needed.

If solitude and tranquility are more your speed, enjoy the owner’s suite and bathroom with just the right touches of elegance and style that will make you leave all your cares behind.

It might look like snow in the principal bath, but it can get nice and toasty if you desire.

Seth, the answer to your fifth question is Senator Ted and Mrs. Heidi Cruz, of course. Concerning this featured Southlake home, I could happily spend the rest of my earthly days cooking in the loaded kitchen, drinking in the fully-stocked bar, and hygienating in the glammy principal bath. However, I would need to donate the apparatuses in the workout room to the local community college, before the contraptions would become resented dust collectors. Hedda

Ha – well let’s home Mr. and Mrs. Cruz at least had a good time. Yes, 1301 Fanning Street in Southlake is quite a marvel isn’t it? I would wager that you would be so inspired by the home that you might even use the exercise room.
