Construction is underway for Southlake’s newest premium neighborhood, The Metairie by Hawkins-Welwood. The 29-acre luxury development will be located at White Chapel Blvd. and Dove Road in north Southlake, prime real estate where home values are some of the highest in DFW and the school district is among the best in the country.

The Metairie will be a beautifully-landscaped community of 56 custom homes with a heavily-treed park and paved common areas that befit the homes that range from $1.2 million to $1.9 million.

Home lots average a quarter acre in size, and homes average 4,500 square feet. Lot prices start at $300,000.

Inside, homes will feature White-Oak hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings with antique wood ceiling beams. The high-end kitchens will have Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances and the latest home technologies. And of course, there will be plenty of outdoor dining and entertaining space that Hawkins-Welwood does so well.

A few future homeowners have chosen and purchased their choice home sites at The Metairie, where streets are slated for completion by late 2020 and the first phase of homes will be ready for move-in by late 2021 or early 2022, says Kelly Ongena of Hawkins-Welwood.

The Metairie is primarily about bringing convenience to modern urban living, Ongena says. Residents will enjoy the low-maintenance lifestyle of the community, which features front yard maintenance and turn-key residential life. The architecture is timeless European designs.

Award-winning Hawkins-Welwood has been building homes in Park Cities, Preston Hollow, North Dallas, and Plano for more than 60 years, and this will mark its first venture into Tarrant County. Other Hawkins-Welwood communities include the ever-popular Residences at the Stoneleigh, Cambridge Place at Preston Trails, Glen Abbey, and The Lawn at Glen Abbey.
