This Northwood Hills MCM Has the Perfect Front Room to Take In the Outdoors

So, last week there was a Palm Springs MCM home so feature-worthy that we had two different writers simultaneously (but unknowingly) writing about it. But this week I’m laying claim to this 1964 midcentury modern home listed by modern expert Brandon Stewart of David Griffin and Company Realtors as the High Caliber Home of the Week, sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans.

The updated Northwood Hills home at Preston and Alpha is a Dixon-Furlow, Inc.-designed contemporary with three bedrooms, two and half-baths, and 3,045 square feet on 0.36 acres. While I wasn’t able to dig up too much information about the Richardson-based builder, Brandon Stewart thankfully sent this original brochure from the builder-designer duo of Don Dixon and Dave Furlow.

Through the orange double doors and frosted privacy glass, you’ll find vaulted birch wood ceilings, expansive walls of windows, a dramatic stone fireplace, and travertine and cork floors.

The open kitchen has marble countertops and stainless steel appliances, including Wolf oversized range, double ovens, griddle and vent hood, Subzero refrigerator, and Miele dishwasher. It has a separate bar sink with small and large wine coolers and ice maker.

The second living area, which has a half bath, is shown here as a game room with three walls of double-pane glass windows with electric blinds installed.

Actually, this front room which overlooks both the front of the home and the backyard with pool could really shine with a few minimalist yet comfortable furniture pieces that let you enjoy the lush outdoors inside.

The master suite has a large walk-in closet with plenty of room for storage, dual vanities, jetted soaking tub, and frameless shower with dual heads. Sliding glass doors open up to the side patio with steel screening wall.

This MCM home full of potential is located on a corner lot of a cul-de-sac nestled in sought-after Northwood Hills. It has a motorized driveway gate, which the sellers installed in 2019, and had the roof replaced in 2020.

Get the lay of the land in this video walkthrough and picture yourself in this beautiful home.

Brandon Stewart has listed 13738 Danvers Drive $799,000.
