The Canyon Creek neighborhood is located in northeast Richardson and offers a range of housing, from competitively priced to luxury. Many Telecom Corridor workers call this area home and it definitely offers a family-friendly vibe.

This week’s Splurge vs Steal takes us to the Canyon Creek, where we’re looking at two renovated houses. Which one is your favorite?

SPLURGE: BEAUTFULLY RENOVATED CANYON CREEK HOUSE ON ALMOST HALF AN ACRE

On the west side of Canyon Creek Country Club, the house at 2901 Canyon Creek Dr. sits on a 0.46-acre corner lot with a circular driveway and great drive-up appeal. This house has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 3,079 square feet on one story, built in 1968 and sitting on 0.46 acres. The roof is new as of 2016.

Walk inside and find crown molding, low-E windows, and recessed lights. The open floorplan is conducive for entertaining and hand-scraped hardwood floors are in the living and dining areas, kitchen, hallways, and master bedroom. The kitchen overlooks the living areas offers lots of storage, granite countertops, an island, breakfast bar, and stainless steel appliances, including double ovens and a built-in microwave. The master bedroom has a lovely ensuite bathroom with a contemporary soaker run, oversized shower with frameless glass, designer tile treatment, dual sinks, and a walk-in closet. The pool-sized backyard has a privacy fence and lots of grassy green space with a storage shed and extra large driveway!

This home was listed July 12 by Angela Green with Keller Williams Central for $675K, reduced to $672,500.

STEAL: RENOVATED TRANSITIONAL HOUSE, REDUCED $10K

The house is sleek with clean lines and an open floorplan and beautiful flooring. You will be greeted by a formal dining area with lots of natural light. The family room is anchored by a brick fireplace and has French doors leading to the backyard. The open kitchen has white Shaker-style cabinets, quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. The master suite feels light and spacious and its ensuite bath has dual sinks. Each bedroom has been updated with new flooring and closet space. In back, there is a swimming pool and privacy fence.
