Brookhaven Golf Course Ranch with Open Floorplan, Mod Updates

Golf course living usually comes with a steep price tag. But we’ve found a three-bedroom, two-bath house on Brookhaven Country Club’s golf course for under $400K.
Perhaps that’s one reason people love living near this country club in Farmers Branch. Our Thursday Three Hundred at 14404 Cyprus Point Dr. has 1,926 square feet on one story, built in 1965. Located near East Belt Line Road and Marsh Lane, it’s a short jog to LBJ Freeway and Interstate 35. Best of all, the house has been updated to be on-trend and appealing.
This corner-lot property features a circular drive, landscaping, and mature trees. It paints a pretty picture.
Inside, the owners have opened up the traditional ranch floorplan to create something totally open in the common areas. Medium shade hardwood floors stretch throughout these spaces and carry into the bedrooms, as well. Recessed lights and windows keep the interior bright.
The living room area is anchored by a brick fireplace with a rustic mantel. This flows easily to the open kitchen. Its design is on point with a gray island, white cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas cooktop. There’s also a dry bar with a stainless steel wine cooler.
Head down the hall to the master suite, which features a space for a sitting and a gorgeous ensuite bathroom. That updated bathroom with gray cabinets, dual sinks, and a marble walk-in shower, as well as some bold, graphic wallpaper.
The secondary bedrooms feature hardwood floors and share an updated bathroom with bold cement tile floor, cream-colored cabinets, and a bathtub-shower combo.
The versatile, bright second living room offers views of the backyard. Situated on the golf course, this private backyard features a swimming pool, fire pit, and great views.
This Brookhaven home was listed Jan. 4 by Savannah Detten with Homecity Real Estate for $380,000.
Does anyone ever consider using those pop-up downdraft exhaust units on a cooktop that sits in the open? Might help the aesthetic vs a big honkin’ (although stylish) exhaust hood hanging in the middle of an open space.
I’ve wondered about those, too, for aesthetic reasons, but my understanding is that they don’t work very well, even the high-end models.
They also vent out the bottom requiring a crawl space or basement to run the ducting out of the house. If it’s a slab house, you’re kinda out of luck.
I believe you can vent it out a wall, if your range is against an exterior wall.
Absolutely, but this one is in an island.
Just another reason why I hate slabs… SIGH
It is all solid slab homes, no crawl spaces in Brookhaven. This is a really good non-teardown flip. Likely, it had been renovated before and then this recent upgrade based on the look. There was a wall for the kitchen where the stove was at one point. Why it didn’t get moved to the outer wall during the second reno is the question. I grew up in Brookhaven and have two sisters, parents and niece that own homes there – fairly familiar with the houses there. Would move back there in a heart beat.
