Casa Linda Estates is a Neighborhood You Never Want to Leave

As an East Dallas dweller, I’ve always loved Casa Linda Estates. It’s a neighborhood full of great houses — from one-story stone cottages to more ornate Spanish-style homes — the diversity in architecture, huge lots, and friendly people make it a fun place to live. Truly, there’s only one gripe I have about this place, and that’s the complete lack of sidewalks. It makes it somewhat challenging for families who have little ones who enjoy walking to Casa Linda Park, which is a popular place for neighbors to gather.

Other than that, this is a splendid enclave, full of mature trees and well-maintained homes. This particular house at 9711 Redondo Dr. is a perfect example, and if the owners weren’t expecting a third child, they wouldn’t be selling this adorable three-bedroom, two-bath stone cottage. But they’re not going far, as they’re planning to build their dream house on San Saba, right next to Casa Linda Park, making the jaunts to the playground with three little ones easier than ever.

A lot of the homes in Casa Linda Estates have been updated over the years in a way that makes them perfect for entertaining, and this one is no different. From small gatherings to back-to-school pool parties (yes, there’s a pool!), this home has tons of cozy spots to have a conversation, hang out, and make friends with the neighbors. The front courtyard is the obvious place to introduce your family to the great people of Casa Linda, with a stone half wall and gorgeous patio that is perfect for a fire pit and container garden.

Inside, there are two living areas, two dining areas, a sunroom, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 2,356 square feet with a great two-car garage. Kristen Boothe with MD Rose Realty has listed 9711 Redondo Dr. for $565,000. No surprise, but someone else found this charming enough that it went under contract last week after just one day on the market. However, it’s not a done deal until the ink dries at closing, as we say, so keep your eyes on this one!

The second full living area can double as a media room for the sports fan in your life. It’s a great spot for slumber parties, video gamers, or movie buffs, as it has a wet bar and built-in wine fridge — everything you need for endless entertainment.

The master suite has a very bright bedroom, thanks to the many windows throughout. Some people aren’t all about sunny mornings, but when you have kids, it’s best to have light and bright spaces that make it hard for kids to sneak a nap in your bedroom. Seriously, ask me how I know. The master bath is heavy on texture, with floor-to-ceiling stone. However, who wouldn’t appreciate a private, cozy retreat like this one, complete with a large walk-in closet.

The second bathroom is also very cozy and enveloping, with a similar stone treatment. It has a large bathtub and separate shower.

But if I was the clever buyer who snapped up this adorable house, it would be because of the backyard. Not only does it have a large deck and patio, plus a great little pool with a tanning ledge, but there’s also plenty of grassy space for a swing set or even a sandbox. Imagine how wonderful it would be to have friends over in the evenings during the hot summers!

If that’s not the perfect way to meet your neighbors, we don’t know what is!
