There’s a new piece of luxury in Preston Hollow that defines what it means to live with abundant natural light.

European steel windows make up the entire back half of the home so that sunlight pours in from every angle. That same airy feel for this 10,000-square-foot home is matched by the high ceilings throughout the house, as well as the seamless transition from one room to the next.

The five-bedroom, seven-bath house was designed by David Stocker, principal at Stocker, Hoesterey, Montenegro Architects, and built by CandysDirt.com Approved Builder S&R Development to bring a true masterpiece to one of the prime lots in Preston Hollow. Nestled on a 1.11 acre private woodland setting on Park Lane, this project impresses all the way from the front curb to the tiered backyard. Let’s take a look.

Here’s a view of the main floor, drenched in sunlight. The builder, Saad Chehabi of S&R Development, tells CandysDirt.com that these windows are so well insulated that the house goes above and beyond what is required by local building code. “It is a very green house, with great insulation and top-of-the-line, highly efficient A/C units,” he added

Architect David Stocker used a traditional floor plan for the basic footprint of the home, but managed to design each living space so that it seamlessly transitions from one function to the next. Check out the living room and dining room.

Notice the creative wine collection display in the above photo. Those full glass doors on the left open to a full-height wine rack with heavy duty pegs that allow the owners to store wine bottles horizontally — the preferred storage method for wine connoisseurs.

Speaking of wine, in a home this impressive, there has to be a stunning kitchen to go with it and S&R Development didn’t disappoint. This sleek, top-grade kitchen blends effortlessly into the background so it doesn’t dominate the living space. It can easily fit a crowd for entertaining and comes with a smaller second kitchen — a scullery — off to the side for caterers to work in or for extra prep room.

A first-floor master bedroom with spa-like bathroom completes the ground level. Before we take a tour outside, take a look at the peaceful retreat steps away from the main living areas.

These mirrors in the master bathroom are suspended from the ceiling so they don’t detract from the full glass wall behind the cabinets. Speaking of the cabinets, the vanity is so perfectly made that it feels like a much-beloved piece of furniture.

The outdoors keeps with the same contemporary feel of the rest of the home, with a pool that is so perfectly nestled into the setting it feels like a naturally occurring lake in the middle of the backyard.

The tiered landscaping in the backyard is a new addition to the lot. Chehabi had to build up the back so that it would angle nicely toward the pool and seating area.

There’s so much more to see in this gorgeous home so we’ve added a few more pictures to show you how fantastic it is from start to finish. Martin Stevenson of Sotheby’s International Realty has 5020 Park Lane listed for $7.895 million.
