White Rock Traditional Offers Plug-And-Play Living For Busy Families

Almost every single listing out there has one or two things about it that just don’t sit right with us. Maybe it’s something with the trim, the layout, or the landscaping that just doesn’t work. With contracts closing at a rapid clip, decisions must be made quickly, and so we’re thrilled to present a Lake Highlands traditional ranch that will feel like home with just about any decor style and inside a great elementary school attendance zone.

Alyssa O’Brien Ramsay with Nathan Grace Real Estate is offering 9206 Northpoint Drive, a cozy one-story with everything a family wants, for $439,000. That’s a bit of a bargain considering the sought-after Richardson ISD schools!

“This house is located in the exemplary White Rock Elementary school zone within the Richardson school district,” Ramsay said. “Because of the academic performance of the students, the wonderful teachers and staff, and the involvement of the parents, White Rock Elementary has seen a huge growth over the past several years.  In order to meet the increasing growth of the neighborhood and enrollment at the school, RISD is expanding White Rock Elementary.  The construction is beginning this summer and is expected to be complete in the fall of 2018.”

That’s exciting news for people with small children. Of course, while schools are important, you also have to consider whether a particular house will work for your family. This one is no slouch!

“This home has an open floor plan with an updated kitchen and bathrooms, four bedrooms, and almost 2,000 square feet,” Ramsay said. “It is hard to find a home in White Rock Elementary with four bedrooms, is move in-ready, and is priced under $440,000! This home is priced at $439,000, which puts it at about $219 per square foot.”

I really like how the floor plan between the family room and the kitchen is open, but there’s still some separation between the casual, everyday living areas and the formals. The French doors let in a ton of light, which is great considering how shady and cool the front rooms are.

The master suite, as you’d expect, is modest in size. I mean, if you can manage four bedrooms in a less-than-2,000-square-foot home, you’ll have to assume that they aren’t going to be enormous by any measure. However, I find that this master bath, with a shower stall and single vessel sink on a marble-topped vanity, suits me just fine. It’s a good size for those with staggered schedules, as you definitely don’t want to try to squeeze two people in here for their morning rituals.

The hall bath, however, has a larger vanity, which comes in handy during the inevitable struggle to get the kids teeth brushed twice daily.

But my favorite thing is the backyard. It’s a total blank slate for those who want to do a little landscaping, or perhaps just want to have a place outside for the kids to go crazy.

If you think this could be the family home for you, Ramsay is holding an open house Saturday, July 28, from 1 to 3 p.m.
