Rogers-Ford Masterpiece in Los Arboles is Easy on the Eye

Los Arboles

If you love the privacy and security afforded by a gated community you’d be hard pressed to find anything that comes close to this Rogers-Ford masterpiece at 3 Robledo Drive in the Los Arboles neighborhood.

Los Arboles is filled with architect-designed homes on sizable lots overlooking beautiful, serene ponds. The neighborhood consists of 30 acres of land originally belonging to Kenny Troutt.  Remember him? He’s the founder of Excel Communications with a net worth of about $1.41 billion. He sold it to developers who decided to gate the neighborhood (which is darned hard to pull off in Dallas now), and so began Los Arboles.

The thing about this home that stopped me in my tracks was something quite simple. It’s easy on the eye. Don’t get me wrong, it’s stunning, but often homes can be overwhelming in detail and design. The idea of living in a home with swag drapes, silk wallpaper, and heavy antique furniture may seem exciting but, in reality, it’s not that livable. Give me anything designed by Rogers-Ford, especially this home.

The house was a custom build for an owner, that, according to the Roger-Ford website:

…desired a new residence that was classical in scale and form, but with clean, minimal detail. This home responds to the Client’s desire for a clean, modern feel, yet still fitting into the neighborhood’s context of traditional styled homes.

Like I said, easy on the eye.

Mark Miller of Bordeaux Homes teamed with Rogers-Ford and the talented interior designer David Cadwallader to bring this 6,772-square-foot home to life. Talk about a dream team.

There are five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, three half baths, three living areas, a gourmet kitchen, and an idyllic outdoor space with a covered entertaining terrace and, of course, the absolute Texas necessity — a dazzling swimming pool.

“The most descriptive word I can think of for this property is ‘timeless,’” Briggs Freeman listing agent Susie Swanson said. “It’s like being in a resort with that gorgeous lake view. You feel like you are in a little slice of heaven.”

Swanson is co-listing the home with Taylor Cousins for $3.79 million.

With a clean design, modern elegance, privacy, security and an excellent location, what more can you ask for?
