Uncompromisingly Beautiful Home by Tatum Brown is a “Highland Park Modern Mediterranean”

GetMedia.ashxIf you’ve ever thought you needed to compromise when purchasing a home, you’ve never seen one designed by Stocker Hoesterey and Montenegro (SHM) and built by Tatum Brown Custom Homes. Our Monday Morning Millionaire, at 3652 Stratford Avenue, is a “Highland Park modern Mediterranean” that has been designed without compromise… on any front. Which makes it just about the most perfect home ever!

There’s an incomparable integrity of architecture, style and livability in this home. These two firms make a formidable team and frankly, they just get it. Always have. They understand how we live today, and how a home must function for us beautifully. Tatum Brown’s tagline is “life happens here.” We definitely have a huge design crush on both SHM and Tatum Brown, and we’re completely entranced with this gorgeous Highland Park home.

“The Stratford house is one of the most beautiful houses I’ve ever sold,” says listing agent Molly Malone with Dave Perry Miller. Malone sold it to the current owners while it was under construction two years ago.

It was completed in May of 2014, says Molly, and the owners spared no expense in installing the finest in window treatments, a pool (with both a heating and cooling pump and even a built-in electric cover by Aquaterra), a separate spa—both with water features, and elaborate landscaping.

There are five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and two powder bathrooms in 8,094 square-feet of light-filled luxury. What we love most is the fact this home is so well-planned, with attention to sustainable features and consideration for use under any circumstance.

For instance, adding an elevator is not just a luxury feature, it’s become an essential element, not just for accommodation to special needs or aging, but for our more physical lifestyles. Years ago, a local avid extreme skier had an accident in Switzerland and was confined to his gorgeous Preston Hollow living room for months because the home had no elevator. You can bet his next home did. Then, too, there are those who swear it is the only way to get heavy suitcases downstairs.

Toyota execs take note. Highland Park is only about twenty minutes up the tollway to your new headquarters and, along with an incomparable home, comes the fantastic Highland Park school system. They have even squeezed a lap pool in the yard. Plus this house is in a prime location within Highland Park.

“Stratford is such a private, quiet street,” Malone said. “It dead ends into The Dallas Country Club on the west, and a creek and bridge leading to Armstrong on the east.”

At $6.19 million, it truly has everything a buyer could want. As the Chinese novelist Gao Xingjian said,

“If you want to do anything, do it now, without compromise or concession, because you have only one life.”

And that life deserves an uncompromisingly beautiful home with at least one elevator.

Love the front yard landscaping – very well done and not at all expensive or unattainable.
