Twin Creeks Home Shows What Allen’s Luxury Market Has to Offer

Sometimes our suburbs to the north get a bad rap for being nothing more than the same homes, block after block, in predictable master-planned subdivisions with a Stepford-like feel. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth — especially in Allen.

This city has so much going for it right now, including a trophy case of accolades worthy of an Olympic athlete. It’s almost like Allen is getting a new award or recognition month after month, with the town just being named one of the healthiest housing markets in America and one of the best cities for young families.
But Allen is so much more than that. Did you know that the city also has a thriving luxury real estate market? Just take Twin Creeks, for example, says Ebby Halliday Realtor Cathy Browne.
“We are so excited about the choices for luxury buyers in beautiful Twin Creeks — from the Lexington area, to the Vistas on the golf course, to the luxury patio homes in Somerset, and finally the gated community — Wimberley Place,” Browne said. “Great choices for buyers looking for great schools, new shopping and dining, and convenience to all areas of Dallas.”
A fantastic example of luxury homes in Allen is Browne’s latest listing, 1601 Bowie Court. Not only does it have incredible curb appeal, but this Evans custom home is on its A game with interior finish-out.

“This home features a great atmosphere for entertaining friends and family, or just relaxing after a long day,” Browne said.”
“The open floor plan featuring four fireplaces offers luxury in every room from the hand-scraped hardwood floors, extensive crown molding, plantation shutters, to the gourmet kitchen with granite and SubZero!”
Yes, this home has everything, and it shows so exceptionally well. Feng Shui aficionados will love the floorplan, as the staircase doesn’t point right at the front door, and the layout allows for people to easily move around within the space. With five bedrooms, four full and one half bath, and more than 4,700 square feet, there’s ample room under this roof for a family.
The lighting scheme is perfect — just enough to brighten spaces, with plenty of recessed lights to not clutter the tall ceilings. This home comes equipped with formals, a den and eat-in kitchen, study, media room, huge master suite, and a spacious kitchen that’s lousy with cabinets and countertop space. Plus, you have to love the mouldings and windows throughout this home!

While Twin Creeks offers plenty of common amenities, including two pools, tennis courts, a golf course, and hike-and-bike trails, you may never leave the resort-style oasis of a backyard. A saltwater pool, spa, three water features, stone fireplace, built-in outdoor kitchen and grill, expansive grassy yard, two cedar-covered patios, plus a flagstone patio all give you a wonderful view of the nearby fully treed creek.

“This spectacular Evans custom home sits on one of the most serene and private cul-de-sac lots I have ever seen in Twin Creeks — not to mention the large size at .82 acres,” Browne said. “The dazzling pool was the first thing that caught my sellers’ eye when they purchased the home. At that point, they were sold on it!”
Speaking of sold, Browne has listed this beauty for $824,900. Considering the amenities, schools, location, and upgrades, that’s a good deal. I guess Allen has grown up after all!

It seems as though every abode built in Collin County is a McMansion of two or more stories setting shoulder to shoulder an arm’s length away from the contiguous home, due to saving on the costs of the lots.

Those in the urban planning, orthopedic surgery and gerontology fields are slapping their thighs in laughter at the folly of this disregard of human frailty as one starts to figure how much one will be paid by Social Security,

The weakest link in the human body is the knee. the knee starts to fail as one approaches the sixth decade. For one with weak knees, there is no more tortuous device than a staircase.

If you would like to have a great deal of wealth in your retirement, you might consider buying stock or warrants in a stair chair or a home elevator company, as there are tens of millions of families who failed to plan ahead to their vulnerability during their mature years.

Expect to see a massive bailout of these shoulder-to-shoulder McMansions in a few decades as those knees go out and people realize that what they need is a one story home to preserve their knees. As there is no land available to build on for these, we will see a massive leaning to purchase and remodel resale one story homes.

Dormand, quite true. We found this out when Walter had his knee surgery — though all went well, he still finds stairs difficult. But alas, the elevators are very easy to install: please note one of our advertising sponsors is Elevation Systems: http://elevatingsystems.com/ They can install elevators in open areas or use closets that are stacked one upon the other, which everyone should include in a home. That was it can be used for an elevator shaft later.

Houses have been multiple stories for hundreds if not thousands of years. If Gerard the Frenchy can figure it out in 1550, then Allen residents can do it in 2050. Low squat lots on huge acreage are what urban planners laugh at. Waste of land for the middle class who can’t afford giant English gardens.

BTW, lots of these houses have the master bedroom down, so the upstairs is almost fully for guests and children, who love stairs.

Great looking home! The kitchen looks great and is very functional I love the plantation shutters. The outdoor area and the pool are a great place to spend the weekend.
