After I found my dream home in Oak Cliff I realized I loved being at home and entertaining there. My “nest” has everything I need… well almost.

Here are some truly innovative products for the home that I’m hoping will end up under my tree this year – thank goodness I got a big one!

Built-In Coffee Machine by Gaggenau

After enjoying a perfect espresso from this beauty (pictured above) there is no going back. It brews whatever your heart desires one cup at a time — coffee, tea, espresso, hot water — and has a steam function to froth your milk with. The Gaggenau coffee machine is beautiful and functional. I love that it uses your favorite coffees and has two bins so you can keep regular and decaf or a favorite flavor available at the touch of a button. When I thought about how much I was spending driving to my local coffee shop or buying those single serving pods this machine made a lot of sense.

The Discovery Winestation by Dacor

The more I learn about wines and the science and lifestyle that goes hand in hand with them the more enchanted I become with this culture. Oxygen and the wrong temperature can change a great wine into vinegar in record time, so how you store your wines and when you enjoy them is really important.

The Winestation keeps your wines at the optimum temperature and keeps your open wines safe from oxidation. The wine pours can be adjusted from 1/4 oz to 8 ounces and will hold up to a magnum sized bottle.

I’m still not sure about this one, but if you like everything in one place this new GE Cafe refrigerator with Kuerig Brewing System could be for you.  The French door refrigerator offers ice water, ice cubes, hot water and Keurig K-Cup coffee all from the front panel. We were able to see it in action at this year’s International Builders Show and the coffee was great, but it took awhile to heat up. If you are limited on counter space though this could be a great choice.

Steam Convection Oven by Thermador

This is truly a life changer. Even if you think you can’t cook, this will make you a star in the kitchen. The steam convection oven by Thermador gives you the option of steam, true convection plus steam and convection cooking modes  – this can become the only oven you need. The humidity factor helps you proof and bake breads, pizzas, vegetables… eating well just became easier than ever. Santa – I promise I’ve been really nice –  I’m hoping this will be under my tree!

There’s still time to get these beauties in your home before the holidays, and we always recommend working with local companies to make sure you have someone nearby to help guide you through what is right for your home. Capital Distributing has always been a huge help to us and is who we bought from when we had a home building company. We also love working with Factory Builder Stores in Dallas and Ft Worth.

Suzanne great article welcome to Candy’s world! Question: I toured a huge new home today that has a computer for the steam shower memory so you can pre-set your desired water temp & pressure and have it your way at the touch of a finger. It’s from Kohler. Have you seen these? I mean, how awesome is that? Everyone who uses the shower can personalize it!

Candy there are so many new innovations out there it’s hard to know where to start! I’m planning on doing a Lifestylist List 2015 for Candy’s Dirt that will share my favorites including what Kohler is doing. I’m glad you got to see the dtv+ computer in a home – I thought that was a great idea. It works with up to 12 outlets and lets you control “the interplay of water, music, lighting and steam in luxury showering experiences.” They also debuted Choreograph which was their shower wall and accessory collection. That may be my favorite new product of the year, but I’m giving too much away – keep reading!
