Les Femmes Du Monde Virginia Cook 2015

Congratulations, Virginia Cook, for being named “Woman of the Year” for 2015 by Les Femmes du Monde. This notable Dallas group raises the funds for the incredible programming hosted by the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth and Children’s Medical Center.

Cook, who is considered the heart of her eponymous brokerage, sat down with Les Femmes du Monde president Alyce Heinrich and the glamorous D’Andra Simmons to talk about the award and what it means.

“She’s one of the most intelligent, smartest women I’ve ever known,” says Faye Gould in the video below. “She deserves to be the woman of the year, and maybe Virginia should be woman of the century.”

There’s no higher compliment than that!

“Virginia being named woman of the year is well-deserved,” said Roger Staubach. Herb Weitzman had some wonderful words to say about Cook, saying that to this day, she rates as “the best that I have ever seen” when it comes to customer service. Other big names singing Cook’s praises include Tincy Miller, Dallas City Councilman Lee Kleinman, and Sheila Rice.

Congratulations, Virginia!

I first got to know Virginia Cook on our flight to Costa Rica aboard Hillwood’s G5 on our way to tour Peninsula Papagayo, a stunning Hillwood development. We girls roomed together in our suite — Virginia, me, and Ellen Terry. I was in charge of Mojito-making. Ross Perot Jr.’s Fort Worth-based Hillwood owned 13 prime, half-acre, beachfront lots in the exclusive enclave of Peninsula Papagayo, which is located in a dry tropical forest on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Up up up went the private jet, whisking four agents and one real estate scribe, yours truly-to Costa Rica for a look-see. Remind me to look for the photos from that trip! Priceless!

I’ve been blessed to have many mentors… Virginia ranks at the top. She not only taught me sales, management, leadership, but more importantly how to care about and for people. Theirs is no greater heart of gold and love than Virginia Cook, congratulations my friend.
