How Agents Live: Katy Trail Cascada Townhouse as Close to Single Fam as You Can Get!

I have long wanted to start a series on the private homes of Dallas real estate agents. Let’s consider this the first post! This is the private home of Briggs Freeman’s Missy Woehr, a dear friend. When she’s not selling sleek condos at Museum Tower, this is where Missy lives with her husband, Gus, also a licensed agent. I think Missy has probably sold every unit at the Cascada.

This is an elegant three bedroom, three and two half bath townhouse built in 2003. With 4166 square feet, this 3-story home is spacious, secure and has a study that could be a fourth bedroom in case you have a houseful.  The floor plan is one of the best I’ve seen, and there is an elevator BUT! There is also a guest room on the first floor. I remember Missy telling me about this last January when my mother-in-law was visiting, my husband was recuperating from a knee replacement, and I needed a first floor guest room. 3380 Blackburn is a home that has been upgraded and planned to the T with top grade materials, comfort and ease of living in mind.

It also feels more like a single family home than most town homes. The plentiful windows peer out over a plethora of trees, making this home appear to be floating over a green backyard. There are a couple of side yards with pet grass.

Let me make one thing perfectly clear: pet grass is the best invention since sliced bread. If I could, I would have a whole yard of pet grass. Doesn’t require water or fertilizer. Keeps the pups clean during monsoon season. How do you think I survived the past rainy month in my life with guest pets? Pet grass!

I think the pictures can do more justice to this home than my jabbering, but  suffice it to say this is one I would snatch up in a heartbeat if I were in the market. Get your checkbooks ready. Location — check: Cascada is on north side of Blackburn just before Katy Trail, off Turtle Creek Boulevard. Square footage — perfection. Each bedroom has an en suite bath and is just what you need — a bedroom, not the Taj Mahal. But the formal and informal spaces in this home are beyond beautiful, from the Carrera marble in the decked-out kitchen to the gold ceiling in the living. Missy, I am in love with your house… and I bet listing agent Ilene Christ (Missy’s partner at Museum Tower) has it under contract by next week! Listed for $1,549,000,

What is “pet grass”? Same as astroturf ?

Yes, there are many brands and varieties of Astroturf. I have a side yard with a dog shower — human shower, too! I started with gravel 10 years ago when we built our home, but it got so dirty and gritty, and the dogs did not like it. I put in the turf 5 years ago and my husband says it was the smartest move I ever made. Well, I think starting this blog may have been the smartest move, but seriously, we love it because it corrals the dogs from running after squirrels or bunnies and keeps their feet clean when it’s muddy-icky. I cannot tell you how many times I have let the dogs out before I leave for an appointment only to have one take off and get all muddy! I am serious — next house will be as much turf as I can find! I am so over grass!
