A lot of the homes you see on Candy’s Dirt were sent to us by agents, brokers, sellers, or compulsive real estate shoppers (you know who you are!). Sometimes, though, we have to wade through MLS to find something interesting for our readers. It’s a lot of work to come up with great listings, week after week!

This one, though, jumped right out at me. I was looking for homes in Frisco within the $200,000 range and really, after a few pages, they all started looking the same. Then I saw this cute little cottage at 7127 Maple Street in Frisco’s historic district, and I was immediately smitten.

Sure, there’s work to be done if you want to keep up with the Joneses, mainly in the kitchen, but the exterior could use a fresh coat of paint all around. The major setback for this property, though, is the single bathroom. You might be able to add in a water closet in there somewhere, but considering that the home was built in 1914, that could be asking a lot.

However, there is 1,000 square feet of unfinished living space upstairs, and if you reinforce the joists and add HVAC, This could be an amazing master suite! You can start fresh and make it look exactly how you want it. You’ll get all the bonuses of living in Frisco without having to live on a tiny lot in a homogenous neighborhood.

And you’ll get a huge screened in porch, which is just a really great thing to have when the weather is like it is today — balmy with a high in the 70s. What do you think?
