Thursday Three Hundred: This 1960 Mid-Mod Has a Few Updates And Plenty of Original Character

I’ve seen a lot of midcentury modern homes that have been rather tragically updated to the point of losing all character. It’s a delicate balance, really, to make a home livable without losing the details that make it great.
This midcentury modern at 9706 Parkford does have some updates, namely in the bathrooms, but still has cool wallpaper and plenty of clerestory windows. The kitchen could use some fresh cabinets and there are some spots that could use some paint, but overall, this home is excellent.
With three bedrooms, two full baths, and 1,841 square feet, this home is a fantastic value at a recently reduced $345,000. Marketed by the lovely Konnie Clayton at Ebby Halliday Realtors, this split-level is in a really great location. It’s in the White Rock North area of greater Lake Highlands, which is near Walnut Hill and Audelia.
What I like best about this home is the privacy of the second-floor master suite. The idea behind the split-level home is a great one — breaking up space without breaking continuity.
The backyard could use some work, but hey, you’re just a stone’s throw from great schools, and this could be a real show-piece of a home, that I’ll forgive that.
