Remember this man?
Potholes are the bane of our existence. You cannot avoid them, they ruin our suspension, blow the front alignment, and send more tires to the landfill. Yet we have to get in our cars in Dallas if we want to get anywhere. And I can not think of one road without potholes, except perhaps the Dallas North Tollway.
Is TXDoT REALLY trying to find a better way to fix potholes? Apparently, yes. NBC5 says researchers at the University of Texas are helping them look for a better mixture of asphalt to fill holes once and for all. I wish they would hurry up. What about tarballs that wash up on the beach?

I hit an enormous one after the ice storm earlier this year and it knocked off my hubcap. I decided to send the city of Dallas a bill for the cost of a new hubcap. Just yesterday I talked to a woman in the city’s Risk Management Office. She told me that there’s a law that says the city is not liable for negligence with roads (ie: massive potholes), so I’m out of luck.
That’s interesting because I’ve heard that some people who have blown tires have been reimbursed for the damage to their cars caused by potholes on Mockingbird.
I’d love to know who they talked to!
Here’s a solution. In Manchester, UK, an artist (nicknamed “Wanksy”) is spray painting penises on potholes to spur the city to fill them quicker…and apparently it’s working. http://mashable.com/2015/04/27/penis-potholes/
