Warming Up to Bat With Tatman’s (Ryan Robert’s) Preston Hollow Stunner

6735 Aberdeen ext Kansas City, Kansas City here I come. But one-time Texas Ranger batter Ryan Roberts, aka “Tatman”, is sure leaving behind a heart stopper over at 6735 Aberdeen. The home was built in 2006, so not that old, but of course belonging to a pro baseball player, no expense was spared in the sleek recent remodel. This home was even featured in D Home Magazine, but I cannot locate the issue since shelter rags usually omit the owner’s names.

But trust me, this home has hit a homer with top line finishes from head to toe.

From the over-sized, heavily-arched front door with mirror surround, to the hardwood floors, Waterworks tile, soapstone counters, farmhouse sink and huge marble island in the kitchen, the home is loaded with extras because, quite frankly, pro baseball, basketball and football stars seldom go to Sears. They are not in the value-conscious set: when the house needs something, it gets the best. I have always said that buying a house from a millionaire is smart. You will get a top of the line stove that has barely been used most of the time.

Note how the home builder gave depth to each archway, creating an English tunnel effect. Note the cross-beamed ceiling (my favorite) and great moldings. There are formals, a bar, kitchen and family room. The first floor master suite has vaulted ceilings and oversized his and her closets. There are separate his and her baths, which if I don’t get in about two minutes, I am going to scream.

Think about it folks: it’s cold, like it is today, and with separate his and her bathrooms he can keep it as cool as he likes. She can keep it as hot as Houston:

He: “I don’t care if you’re cold, put on a sweater.”

She: “My toes are blue and I am turning that thermostat up to 74. If you touch it I will make your fingers blue.”

See how well we communicate?

Other featured rooms include a billiard room, media room, playroom, wine room, and quarters.

The home was listed a while back with Rogers Healy, who apparently got it leased up for Ryan as quickly as possible. Rogers had it listed for $1,900,000 originally. Now it’s been reduced to $1,500,000, which I think is like highway robbery. The home is on .26 acres, a bit over a quarter, which I think is groovy. (Anyone want an acre? Call me.) There are 4 bedrooms, five full and one half baths, a three car garage for a total of 7061 square feet. I may actually go look at this house, see how well it might could lend itself to being Candy World Headquarters!

Candy, the draperies in the billiard room are scrumptious–among many other amenities. (And Thank You for the LinkedIn request–I am honored and flattered.) You believe it is good value at 1.5M? You’re probably right.

I might come in a $1.4 just for fun. My pleasure!
