Southlake Townhome Living Promises Big Style in These Ebby Halliday-repped Homes |

Living in Southlake is where it’s at, and this wealthy DFW suburb has one of the highest standards of living in North Texas. People love this city of just over 31,000 for its top-rated schools, community amenities, and excellent real estate options.

Southlake is located in northeast Tarrant County, about 26 miles northwest of downtown Dallas and 25 miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth. As we continue to grow and become more densely populated here in North Texas, Southlake’s proximity to DFW International Airport, the Las Colinas and North Dallas business centers, and both downtowns will make it even more attractive.

In the heart of the city, the 130-acre Southlake Town Square is a high-end, open-air lifestyle shopping district with more than 120 shops and dozens of restaurants. This is a huge attraction and amenity for the city, and nearby, you’ll find many a Southlake townhome within walking distance. These offer luxury living with great floorplans, desirable amenities, and gorgeous finish-outs.

I’ve found two Southlake townhomes represented by Ebby Halliday Realtors that recently hit the market. Ebby has a local office in Southlake that is walking distance from the town square — they offer a local presence and expertise that can make all the difference when you’re navigating the market. Let’s take a look!

6822 Oeste A

The Dallas Cowboys may be bidding farewell to Las Colinas, but homebuyers can’t get enough of this master-planned community in Irving. It’s a clean, attractive suburb with more than 190 acres of parks and greenbelts, 17 miles of canal waterways, and 10 miles of riverside hiking and biking trails.

More than 33,000 call Las Colinas home, and the average house price in the community is $566,417, according to That makes today’s Tuesday Two Hundred a real find: the townhome at 6822 Oeste Dr. is newly listed by Leslie Knutson at RE/MAX Premier Group for $275,000. The price-per-square-foot of $155 is less than the Las Colinas average of $167 per square foot, and this townhome has hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops.

This Mediterranean-style property has stucco exterior walls, red roof tiles, and is part of the La Villita Townhomes. It has two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms on two stories in 1,772 square feet built in 2007 and is walking distance to the Lago de Claire and the Gran Via canal, a meandering waterway near jogging trails.

4620 Lester

One of the benefits of living in a condo or townhome is little or no yardwork and someone else to take care of common areas.

But that comes at a price, in the form of HOA fees, which can be crazy expensive (last week’s Tuesday Two Hundred’s HOA fees rang in at a hefty $1,053 per month, although they did include all utilities).

For those who don’t care to drop the equivalent of a couple of car payments each month on HOA fees, today’s Tuesday Two Hundred is for you. The townhome at 4620 Lester Dr., listed by Jeffrey A. Updike with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate for $269,000, has HOA fees of just $55 per month. That’s one of the lowest I’ve seen, and it includes all common area maintenance.

Built in 2007, this property is one of the Hawthorne Street Townhomes, a gated community located near the intersection of Wycliffe and Maple avenues, close to the Medical District, Dallas North Tollway, and Oak Lawn entertainment venues.

It’s a 2-2 with 1,978 square feet on three stories with vaulted ceilings in the living room and master bedroom and an open-concept floorplan. My eyes don’t know whether to look up at the high ceilings, or down at those pristine, wide-plank hardwood floors. Wow.

15737 Seabolt A

Addison is one of my favorite suburbs in DFW, with special events and festivals scheduled 29 weekends of the year, more than 170 restaurants, and 118 acres of parks. There’s always something fun to do there, from happy hours and festivals to Shakespeare in the Park and WaterTower Theatre. It’s also only 14 miles from Downtown Dallas on the Dallas North Tollway, so getting anywhere in between is a cinch.

The city of Addison is small, with only 4.35 square miles of land and 15,830 residents, but they’ve got plenty of inspiring residential real estate. This is particularly true around the Addison Circle area, a modern, urban neighborhood with brick-paved, tree-lined streets, public art, and some stellar townhomes, apartments, and condos.

Today’s Tuesday Two Hundred takes us there to an Addison townhome at 15737 Seabolt Pl. Unit 30 is a two bedroom, 2.5 bath listed by Pamela Lewis at Ebby Halliday for $269,000 (just reduced $5,000). It has 1,922 square feet on three stories on an interior lot with impressive appointments and details; this townhome is newly listed and move-in ready. Jump to read all about it!

001_Building ExteriorThe city of Lewisville is spending millions of dollars to revitalize its historic downtown area, and developers are flocking to the northern suburb. Today’s Tuesday Two Hundred takes us to the Belleville Village development near East Main Street and East Mill Street, to a new townhome at 313 S. Kealy Street.

Listed for $209,000, this three bedroom, three-and-a-half bath, two-story townhome is 1,827 square feet, one of six like it coming on the market in Uptown Village Lewisville. The brick exterior mirrors the look and feel of downtown Lewisville, and the aesthetic is a historic, urban look.

“This is going to be a walkable area, like Shops at Legacy or in Coppell,” said David Maez, Broker and Co-Owner at VIVO Realty, which represents the developer. “Our company really wanted to showcase the lifestyle that this development and downtown Lewisville will offer.”

The revitalization of downtown Lewisville is currently underway and will feature new restaurants, shopping, public space, and mass transit. Uptown Village Lewisville is part of the transformation. We’ll take a look later this week at the exciting changes happening in both downtown Lewisville and at Lewisville Lake. Jump to read more about this property! (more…)

4237 Tomberra Front

“Calgon, take me away!” That’s what this gorgeous, low-maintenace, updated townhome in the Pierremont will make you say. Sometimes you just look at how much maintenance a fully detached single-family home needs and you cringe. If you’re done with all that mess, then this luxuriously updated townhome is for you.

Just on the market in the Love Field Area, 4237 Tomberra Way is spacious without being overly large, and has great outdoor spaces that are completely low or no maintenance. There’s a mandatory HOA with a $297 fee, which covers the typical things such as landscaping and exterior repairs. (If you need prompt, trustworthy service for interior repairs, check out!) Considering its central location and its bevy of updates (check out the master suite!) I think this 2,830-square-foot townhome is priced at a very fair $450,000. It has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, and plenty of living space for those who need to spread out.

4237 Tomberra Living

The living room is very well appointed and shows off the beautiful new hardwood floors. The stone fireplace is immaculate, and definitely makes a statement in the room as much as the huge windows and natural light that floods in.

4237 Tomberra Kitchen

The kitchen is a great size for both entertaining and daily gourmet meals. You get stainless steel appliances fit for a chef, including a gas cooktop and double ovens. The granite counters aren’t the typical hue you’d come to expect, and they really make the sparkling white cabinets pop! I also love the stainless venthood with the spice rack, an overlooked feature that makes cooking so much more convenient.

There’s an excellent breakfast nook, too, that faces a wall of windows looking out onto the grounds. It’s a perfect spot for informal meals or reading the newspaper. If you thought you’d have to sacrifice views and natural light with a townhome, well, this property should prove you wrong!

4237 Tomberra Master

The master suite is spacious, a real luxury in a townhome! This is what sold me on the property. It’s both huge and cozy at the same time. And the bathroom has a great layout!

4237 Tomberra Master Bath

You don’t have to sacrifice outdoors space with a townhome, either. This property has a great balcony and a patio with a water feature, too. Because it’s an end unit, you get open space to both the side of the unit and the rear, so you only have a neighbor on one side.

What do you think? Is it priced right? And would you consider buying a townhome over a conventional home?
