North Dallas Ranch

Today’s Thursday Three Hundred is a whole lot of house for $399,000.

The 1967 ranch at 7823 Roundrock Dr. has 2,789 square feet, five bedrooms, and three full baths with multiple updates throughout, including new paint and carpet in 2015. The backyard has a pleasant covered patio with high ceilings, a fan, and flagstone floor. The saltwater pool and landscaping add to the appeal.

This drive-up darling is well-maintained on a corner lot, with cream-colored brick and black shudders, an original ironwork pillar on the front porch, an open front lawn with mature trees, and the entire property has an in-ground sprinkler system.

For this week’s Tuesday Two Hundred, we’re venturing out to the L.O. Daniel neighborhood of North Oak Cliff, to a renovated Craftsman at 229 N. Brighton Ave.

2524 Rogers Front

In the $400K to $500K range, there’s a lot of new construction in Fort Worth. And while a new home is good every once in a while, seeing the same granite and stainless kitchen can be a little bit boring. Nothing against Fort Worth: I love the city and it’s awesome south side and the TCU area is just booming with cool homes and great little pockets of businesses. But I am always on the lookout for interesting, unique homes with a combination of character and amenities.

And in my search, I found this adorable home with incredible curb appeal and a fantastic backyard. And it’s close to TCU!

Happy Father’s Day to all those great dads and grandfathers out there! You deserve to kick up your feet, enjoy a beverage and a homemade card, and maybe a little barbecue while you watch the Rangers try to shake off this funk that’s keeping them from scoring.

6195 Palo Pinto Den

What better place to enjoy Father’s Day than from a media room with a projector TV, plenty of comfy chairs, and a wet bar? Well, this Lakewood custom home at 6159 Palo Pinto has all that and a bag of chips! (Seriously, he’ll probably want some chips, people.) It’s listed by Dave Perry-Miller agent Angela McCants for $750,000.

6195 Palo Pinto Kitchen

With four bedrooms, four bathrooms, formal living and dining areas, a study, and more than 4,600 square feet, this home is all about living large in Lakewood. Built in 2001, this house has major upgrades and curb appeal. Viking appliances, including a built-in refrigerator, double ovens, and a huge breakfast bar. There’s designer lighting throughout the home, as well as gorgeous hardwood floors.

6195 Palo Pinto Study

There are two spots in this home that dad will love — the wood-paneled study and the media room. The study, a huge room with built-in cabinets and book cases is perfect for the father who has to take work home with him. The media room, though, is all play. It has a built-in microwave, sink, and ice maker, meaning that dad doesn’t have to miss a second of the action when the big game is on.

6195 Palo Pinto Media

In the backyard, the entertainment continues with a beautiful saltwater pool and spa and an outdoor kitchen — great for a dad who grills! It’s a great area for a summer get-together for family, neighbors, and friends. Wouldn’t your dad love this place?

Windjammer back

My dad is big on fishing. He loves to get out on the lake and waste a few hours with a friend, sitting in relative silence and drinking something cold. We lived super close to a great fishing hole growing up, but not everyone is so lucky.

Well, until now. Does your dad crave easy access to a boat slip? Does he often talk about getting out and going fishing, but rarely, if ever does? Then you should definitely have him check out this fantastic home at 424 Windjammer Lane in Azle’s Oak Harbor Estates that not only has a great little saltwater pool, but also has lake views and access to a boat slip, a fantastic game room with a wet bar and a fantastic garage. It’s a steal, too, at just $299,000 for a five-bedroom, three-bath house!

424 Windjammer Family

There are tons of upgraded fixtures, too, including hardwood floors, travertine, and a breakfast nook and kitchen with a beautiful stained wood ceiling. I love the vaulted ceiling in the family room, which makes the space feel even more generous. There are tons of windows from which you can see Eagle Mountain Lake, and if you think you have to live in the sticks for views and a place like this, well, you’re wrong. This house is minutes outside Fort Worth — a huge plus!

424 Windjammer Kitchen

There’s almost 3,000 square feet of space inside, which is plenty of room for guests to spread out during all of the fabulous get-togethers you’re going to throw this summer. I can’t imagine a better place for a Fourth of July grill-a-thon than that outdoor kitchen, just steps from the pool for when the heat and margaritas start to get to you. And there’s a great spot in this home that is just begging to be made into the ultimate man-cave.

424 Windjammer Master

I have only one gripe about this house — and it’s a tiny one. It seems kind of weird to me that a home in this location, with these amenities and at this price point has a master bedroom that is only 15 x 16. I was really hoping for something much larger, but hey, maybe it’s the over-sized four-poster bed that makes the room feel a bit smaller than it is.

424 Windjammer Master Bath

In any case, this is a house that I am sure any dad worth his sea-faring salt would love!

12780 Hilltop Front

This place was built to be shown off. If you need convincing of this fact, I point you to the unbelievable second-floor bar and billiard at 12780 Hilltop in Argyle. It’s like Boston’s famous Bull and Finch Pub (Cheers, if you watch the TV show) without the weird smell and surly barmaids.

Seriously, every photo of this home is better than the last. I couldn’t stop myself! So yes, this house is beautiful and has every single thing you’d want to throw the most amazing parties.12780 Basement Wine Cellar

This incredible home, marketed by none other than Vanessa Andrews of Hoffman International, this Napa-inspired chateau is on the market for $11 million. The property includes 50 sandy loam acres in the Denton County suburb of Argyle. Just 20 minutes away from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, this estate is both secluded and accessible, thanks to the oak trees that buffer the main house from the rest of the world.

12780 Hilltop Private Lake

The estate includes a private lake, a wonderful barn, an arena, and a detached garage that has room enough for all your motors with a second floor conference area. Designed by architect John Hall, this amazing estate was completed in 2009 by Kindred-Pecchi builders. The main house totals 12,205 square feet, which includes the guest apartment that is big enough to host an overnight guest or two quite comfortably.

I love all of the warm materials used on this home. The exterior features a Samaca slate roof and brown Ozark dry-stack stone with gorgeous climbing vines. Inside you’ll find Venetian plaster, soft wood trim, tin tile ceiling in the “man cave,” and beautiful honey-colored hardwood floors.

The backyard is just as amazing, with an infinity-edge saltwater pool with views of the private lake, the pastures, and beyond. Come summer, I’m sure this area gets mighty crowded. There’s plenty of room to entertain guests, too, considering the oversized patio and enclosed loggia.

And if you own horses, this property has both an amazing barn and arena. I love how this estate has brought the outdoors in and the comforts of indoors to the outside. What do you love most about this incredible home?

6843 Coronado Front

OK, so technically, this house is $100 shy of $300,000, but we’ll overlook that this Thursday because 6843 Coronado Ave. has an absolute stunner of a saltwater pool for this price range, and considering our climate, we all need to start preparing for summer’s sweltering temperatures.

6843 Coronado Living

Built in 1946, this charmer in Lakewood Hills has three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, two living areas, and did I mention the saltwater pool in the backyard? Oh yeah, THERE’S A SALTWATER POOL IN THE BACKYARD.

6843 Coronado Backyard

The saltwater pool, which was designed by Riverbend Sandler, pretty much sells this house for me. It’s super cute on the inside with excellent neutral paint and great art on the walls. I love that some of the original features were kept intact such as the chair rail in the dining room and the arched passage way. There’s 1,328 square feet inside this home, which is enough room for a family of three, but I’d want a second full bath if I had two kids. Still, it’s a great value at $299,900, especially considering that it’s in the Lakewood Elementary and Woodrow Wilson High School attendance zone.

6843 Coronado Dining

The kitchen could use a few upgrades — I’d put in stainless appliances and fixtures when installing a new countertop. And I can’t really tell from this angle the size of the kitchen, but it doesn’t look big enough to have a breakfast area. You’ll have to request a showing to find that out.

6843 Coronado Kitchen

The master is pretty standard as far as size goes, but I love the view it has — you know, THE SALTWATER POOL (I think I’m losing my voice from all this virtual shouting!). The den, which appears to be a late add-on to the back of the house, also has excellent views of the backyard.

6843 Coronado Den

Now, the full bath — the only full bath in this home — is really kind of cramped. There is no way two adults could get ready at the same time in this tiny bathroom, so don’t even try imagining it. But, depending on what’s on the other side of those two bathroom walls, you could make this into a much more family friendly bathroom.

6843 Coronado Bath

To close, I leave you with another view of the SALTWATER POOL. Ugh. I die.
