If you love the laid-back vibe of Lakewood but need a little more house than what’s available traditionally, this 4,412-square-foot home on Sondra Drive in Lakewood could be a perfect fit. Matthew Edwards of Dave Perry-Miller Preston Center has the listing selected at this week’s High Caliber Home, sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans.

If you’re a close reader of CandysDirt, you might recognize this five-bedroom, four and half-bath home as one we’ve featured before, but Matthew completely restaged the home and dropped $50k off the price since we last featured it. Even more reason to fall for this house!

“This is definitely the gem of Sondra Drive that is nestled in the heart of Lakewood!” gushed Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s Matthew Edwards when I asked him about his brand new listing. The home is not only a newer build in one of Dallas’ most sought-after neighborhoods, but it the location is beyond enviable, making it a shoo-in for our High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans

Of course, Lakewood is teeming with stellar homes of all ages and sizes, but homes on Sondra Drive are particularly sought after because of the private feel of the narrow, tree-lined streets. Plus, you’re so close to everything.

“This property lives wonderfully and has so many great amenities,” Edwards added. “It’s within walking distance to Lakewood Elementary and White Rock Lake!”

It’s true. Sondra Drive has twice the appeal of other Lakewood locations thanks to its proximity to Lakewood Elementary and its distance from the main thoroughfares that traverse the neighborhood. But if you’re a homebody like me, what you’ll really love the backyard, which has a great pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and a tidy lawn that will mean you’ll have plenty of room outside to keep both kids and parents happy no matter the season. No need for KayCee Pool memberships here!

Can you believe that July Fourth is tomorrow? It feels like summer is just racing by us, and Dallas is kicking the holiday weekend off with tonight’s Red, White, and Boom on the Bridge festivities on the Ron Kirk Bridge (Continental Ave. for those of us who aren’t recent transplants). The event concludes with a fantastic fireworks display over the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, which will be easily visible from this 23rd-floor perch at Bleu Ciel.

“This Bleu Ceil New Modern in the sky captures the best, most sensational views of the downtown Dallas Skyline,” says Matthew Edwards of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. He’s the listing agent for this week’s High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. With all of the stellar amenities of this building, it’s definitely the place to be for fireworks this Fourth of July, with short breaks on the resort-style pool deck!

bryan street loftGet ready to be wooed by our Thursday Three Hundred.

The loft-condo at 3030 Bryan St. Ste 207, near N. Haskell Avenue and Live Oak Street, shows spectacularly, with 11-foot ceilings, stained and polished concrete floors, an open floorplan, and access to a 2,200-square-foot rooftop deck with breathtaking downtown views.

It’s a 2-1 with an additional half bath and 1,512 square feet, built in 2005, a study in New Modern craftsmanship. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow sunlight to flood the space, which feels considerably larger than its measured square footage.

It was listed Tuesday by Matthew Edwards with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate for $399,000. Monthly HOA dues are $412. There is an open house Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
