Close to Fort Worth and in the Aledo school district is one of the most luxurious and versatile properties I’ve ever seen, Kipling Lear Farm. In addition to three incredible residences and a pool house, there’s a beautifully appointed 20-stall barn and covered arena with an enclosed viewing gallery and catering kitchen for entertaining.

Previously the home of champion race horses and Iberian dressage horses, the 135-acre working farm is ideal for horses of any discipline and their owners who want to ride in style. The grassy fields and pastures slope gently toward the banks of the South Bear Creek, and wooded areas are full of mature pecan and century-old oak trees. White tail deer, wild turkey, foxes, quail, owls, and other birds call the farm home, too. This property is a rare opportunity to enjoy an oasis of natural beauty just 30 miles from Fort Worth.

“Kipling Lear Farm was purchased by the current owners in 2006, who embarked on an extensive remodel of the existing buildings, as well as adding new ones, between 2009 and 2016,” said listing agent Martha Williams with Williams Trew. “This is country living at its finest, with native wildlife, woodlands, an orchard, and a main house with a genteel and welcoming front porch from which you can enjoy the views.”

Taking full advantage of the surrounding views, the home has multiple outdoor living spaces, like the back of the home with a kitchen patio, courtyard, outdoor fireplace, and flagstone steps leading to a creekside fire pit below. That is living! And it’s just one small example of the thoughtful, gracious spaces throughout Kipling Lear Farm.

Horse-lover's Dream House Near Equestrian Trails at Lake Ray Roberts | CandysDirt.com

I’ve found an exceptional equestrian property sitting on almost 10 acres on the shores of Lake Ray Roberts, about an hour north of Dallas.

The expansive home at 7621 Sierra Lane in Pilot Point is a true luxury horse estate with a gorgeous custom home. Its Southern-style exterior leads to a high-end transitional interior with 20,437 square feet. You’ve got to see this in person to truly appreciate how unusual it is for our North Texas market.

“This is a remarkable plantation-style home set on a picturesque 9.72 acres with a luxury swimming pool, outdoor areas, and multi-stall barn,” said listing agent Jason Haugen with eXp Realty. “It’s right next to the equestrian trails on the shores of Lake Ray Roberts — everything about this property makes it a dream for the serious horse lover.”

This estate has six bedrooms (including two masters), five full bathrooms, four half baths, four living areas, two dining areas, on three stories with an elevator and a gated entrance and guest quarters, built in 2015. Can I give you a tour?

The Amber

Today, I’d love to tell you about one of the most beautiful homes I’ve seen in a long time — there’s not another place like this in North Texas. So unique is this property, it even has a name. The Amber is an expansive, pastoral property nestled in the quiet community of Little Elm. Little Elm is only 45 minutes from downtown Dallas and ten minutes from nearby shopping and dining, but has the coziness of country living on 10 gorgeous acres. And if you haven’t been up there in awhile, well, things are hopping!

Located at 751 Amber Ln., this is sophisticated contemporary transitional living with everything a buyer could want, right on the northern shores of Lewisville Lake. Locals here have access to all the fishing, boating, and fun they could ask for!

The Amber was designed by noted Dallas architecture firm Bernbaum Magadini in 2006, and holds a reputation for award-winning horses, in addition to the breathtaking tranquility of the curated grounds. It has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and 6,232 square feet on two stories. The home is divided into special privacy wings that lend itself to so much versatility of living. Clearly, you can see the spacial use genius of Bernbaum Magadini in every inch. This property is going to knock your socks off — it’s listed by Evan Stewart and Nilza Rueckert of the Rueckert + Stewart Group with Ebby Halliday Realtors, who were kind enough to give me a full tour and let me chase the hens! Aledo

To many, Aledo may conjure up images of newly minted communities of rather large houses. In fact the town — to the west of Fort Worth, placed partly in Parker County, partly in Tarrant County — has a history extending back to 1882, the year of its incorporation. Working ranch land like stand-out Stone Ridge Acres at 4007 S FM 5, dot the surrounding environs. Ranch houses appear to have undergone a major metamorphosis from the days of Giant‘s Riata or, indeed, Dallas‘ Southfork. (more…)

TWP-Marvine4017A

Despite what it looks like, no, this gorgeous ranch in Aledo is not a dream. It is totally real, and it is truly amazing. This award-winning ranch in Aledo is just a short drive from D/FW International Airport and sits on 176 acres. It is the ultimate equestrian experience, a world-class training facility for those serious horse people. I mean, this is the Landry Center and Cooper Clinic for horses and it’s gorgeous, too!
