I have finally found a home that could potentially force me to do something really stupid, the likes of which I have never done. Like climb a roof, or maybe bribe someone. You must understand this is truly a trend-setting house nestled away in the woods of North Dallas, with all the bells and whistles I have ever wanted in a home. Like, did my clone built it? I might in fact bribe Cindy O’Gorman to give me a staycation in this place. I’ve always said, try before you buy! Why can’t we try on houses for size?
I want you to look at this piece of beauty and note the price has been reduced to $1,999,000 from a previous high of $2,195,000. Get your signature pens ready!
Recently built in 1998, how can 36 Ash Bluff be only two years senior of my house but look so fabulous? Is she just one of those who never ages? First of all, it’s a modern design on 1.5 wooded acres in the exclusive Ash Bluff 2 section of Glen Abbey, the old Murchison estate property developed by former Dallas Mayor Bob Folsom. You want gated — this is gated, chi chi and uber secure. There are 6,000 glorious square feet in the main house which includes wood and stone flooring, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the grounds, not one, not two but three oversized wood burning fireplaces, wood beamed and corrugated metal ceilings, enormous room sizes, and a fifty foot long loggia gallery perfect for an art collection. Or meditating.
I love the kitchen: commercial-style for serious cooks (or the serious chefs we hire) with wood counters, open shelving, 6 burner Viking range, Sub Zero, and great storage spaces. This home built a caterer’s kitchen with more storage, lighted cabinets, and concrete counters before everyone in Highland Park got one. In fact, this home may have invented the caterers kitchen.
But here is where I could just live and really, to be blunt, die! The master suite offers an office, (the second) with fireplace, large sitting area, kitchenette where I would add in my Miele coffeemaker from the folks at Capital Distribution, color-coordinate my clothes in the huge walk in closet, bathe in that luxurious bath with stone flooring and oval soaking tub, and clutter the granite counters. There is a separate spa room for the masseuse, and the enormous bedroom with walls of windows bringing the outdoors in without the nasties, and one more wood burning fireplace. Plenty of room for the husband, too, who might actually find his wife, the blogger, if her office was off the bedroom.
The home offers three living areas, four bedrooms with master down, four fireplaces, study, solarium, game-room, a separate spa/hot tub room, a carriage house that is 3,000 square feet where you find the solarium, two enormous rooms, upstairs guest quarters with 2 bedrooms and baths, full kitchen with wood floors and granite counter tops (yes, I am in the guest house, dear) plus eating and dining area.
Did I tell you this home has a SIX CAR detached garage plus extra storage rooms, both a metal and tile roof, seriously sexy lap pool, and near perfect grounds that resemble a Zen garden?
I am calling Cindy right now… this house is seriously too good to be true…
