On the other side of Fort Worth Avenue, just off of W. Colorado Blvd. is a quiet enclave of 176 homes called Stevens Park Village. The North Oak Cliff neighborhood, first developed by Annie Stevens between 1939 and 1941, feels homey and quaint, full of Austin stone Prairie-style cottages — even a few Dilbecks! – and bungalows with neat lawns and groomed hedges.

The homes are all sturdy, set upon the meandering tree-lined streets of the neighborhood. Though Cliff Manor Apartments, a public housing project, is just down Fort Worth Avenue from Stevens Park Village, there’s not much traffic and very little crime. It’s idyllic and charming with greenbelts and friendly neighbors.

But there’s one home that didn’t look tidy or loved, with overgrown hedges and peeling paint masking the rotted window frames. That’s the home that Donovan Westover fell in love with.

2308 W. Colorado Boulevard

From the outside, it looks like many of the Austin stone-clad 1930s bungalows you’ll find throughout North Oak Cliff’s Stevens Park Village. These homes, perched along the city’s award-winning, redesigned public golf course, all have a very Lakewood-esque character, thanks to the rolling hills and well-maintained homes. Developed by Annie Stevens between 1939 and 1941, you’ll find a great mix of single-story bungalows like this one with Prairie-style abodes and even some Dilbeck-designed residences.

This particular specimen, built in 1941, has a vintage feeling exterior and completely updated interiors. The care and attention to detail, both inside and out, make this home a High Caliber Home. If you still think love at first sight is some mix of attraction and just the right cocktail of brain chemicals, well, I have a listing that will change your mind on that. I am pretty sure that I fell in love with 7151 Greentree after getting a glance at this listing, and boy, I am still smitten!

7151 Greentree DIning

I think you’ll agree that this contemporary renovation in Green Cove Estates is perfectly executed right down to the last detail. Built in 1965 and recently renovated with a soft contemporary feel, this ranch feels like a Hill Country getaway with four-star amenities. On a half-acre creek lot in one of the most highly sought-after neighborhoods in the White Rock Lake area, this gorgeous property won’t hang out on MLS long.

7151 Greentree Living

It’s listed for $1.15 million by Dave Perry-Miller Realtor Gaynell Henger, and folks, it’s worth every penny. This home is just completely immaculate, from the upgraded lighting and hand-scraped hardwood floors, to the gourmet kitchen and spectacular backyard. Entertain a lot? This home is for you. The kitchen is open to the living area with a huge bar, and the backyard has the most amazing infinity-edge pool, a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen, and a loggia that will have you green with envy.

The interiors, which are so very well curated in this home, are set off by the huge Jeld-Wen windows and doors throughout the house. Further adding to the Hill Country appeal is the Austin-stone fireplace, bar support, and kitchen backsplash behind the custom vent hood.

7151 Greentree Master

I love the master bedroom, which really won me over with the two huge walls of glass doors that open to the incredible backyard. I wouldn’t mind waking up with that view — a private creek — any day of the week.

7151 Greentree Master Bath

The master bathroom is gorgeous, too, but hardcore fans of having a place to soak will be only slightly disappointed at the lack of a bath tub. If that doesn’t turn you off, well, then this is a perfect bathroom for you, with a huge custom shower and long vanity with a window that looks out into the backyard.

But it’s the professionally landscaped backyard that will throw you for a loop. This scene is nothing short of show-stopping, with plenty of room to entertain friends. The pool is absolutely lagoon-like, and the fire pit is the perfect place to roast marshmallows with friends this fall.

So, do you love this home as much as we do?

Tenison Front

This is another installation in the “everything in the $200K range is under contract” saga. Seriously. I cruise MLS on a daily basis, looking for amazing homes to feature here on They have to have a little something special, they have to really catch my eye to make it on here. The problem is, potential buyers are doing the same dang thing I am doing — hunting listings like hungry hawks! Seriously, every home that caught my eye this morning was already under contract!

Tenison Living

That’s not going to get the best of me, though. Our philosophy here at is that until they get the keys, it’s still game! That’s good, especially for this adorable Hollywood Heights bungalow at 1118 Tenison Memorial. It’s marketed by David Bush Realtors for $275,000. This home is in a great location that is building tons of momentum. One of the downsides of living in this area is the trek you have to make for shopping. Not anymore! Lincoln Properties has finally shared its plan for renovating the shopping center at Gaston Avenue and East Grand, and it’s going to bring high-end grocery and retail to this long-neglected spot!

Tenison Dining

Anywho, I have a soft spot for Austin stone homes, especially those with wide front porches. This house, built in 1938, has remained completely intact outside. It’s just beautiful from the street. On the inside, though, you’re stepping into a different decade. That’s a good thing, y’all! This home has been completely remodeled with style and convenience in mind, making it a fabulous merging of historical architecture and modern amenities. It’s a sizable house for this neighborhood, too, with three bedrooms, two baths, and more than 1,300 square feet.

Tenison Kitchen

The living and dining areas have been completely opened up, allowing spectacular flow that will have you entertaining crowds with grace and ease. The hardwood floors are beautiful, and while the paint choices may not be for everyone, I absolutely adore them. Rich and vibrant, the walls really elevate the style and decor of the home. In the kitchen you’ll find brand new cabinets, stainless appliances, granite counters, a mosaic backsplash, a wine cooler (I’M SOLD!), and a huge breakfast bar. Add in that cool pendant lighting and I swear this home was made for me!

Tenison Mater Tenison Master Bath

The master bedroom is separate from the other bedrooms and has an en-suite bath that is completely updated. There’s a double vanity and perhaps the coolest walk-in shower I’ve seen in a while. I love the frameless bypass doors so much. Really, this master suite is all value!

Tenison Backyard

In the backyard you’ll find an expansive deck and stone patio — again, even more perfect for entertaining crowds. There’s a large grassy area for playing catch or lawn games, and a great little nook along the back fence for hanging your hammock.

Could this house get any more perfect?
