Browse the Life and Loves of the Late Realtor Marilyn Hoffman’s Lakewood Estate Sale

If you caught WFAA’s story yesterday about the late Realtor Marilyn Hoffman, then you know the lines for her Lakewood estate sale were out the door — and way, way down the street. There’s ample reason for the excitement. Dallas Estate Sellers is hosting this sale at Hoffman’s home full of equestrian art, collectibles, fashion and jewelry at 6835 Westlake Ave. now through Saturday, May 25 — and today everything’s 25 percent off.

In my estate sale stories, I’ve often said estate sales are like archaeological digs of the objects left behind that make up someone’s life. For the woman known by some as the One Hundred Million Dollar agent because she once sold the most expensive home in Texas, it’s difficult to choose which story thread to write about.

She sold extraordinary farms, ranches, and estate properties for everyone from golfer Lee Trevino and Dallas Cowboy Deion Sanders to a Saudi Prince and cosmetics queen Mary Kay. Her clientele would fill pages and pages of candysdirt.com.

Her own 8,000-square-foot Lakewood estate is something of legend, too. When her 1926 Tudor manor hit the market back in 2019, the words “exceptional architectural pedigree” were thrown around. Hoffman was the estate’s listing agent and partial owner through a family trust. She famously told Candy Evans that the home was up for sale or trade — for a ranch, larger home, or fine coin collection.

And then of course, this grand estate sale is a home full of beautiful things from a beautiful woman with a life well lived.

From the listing:

“This exclusive event features a remarkable collection of fine fashion and accessories, jewelry, crystal, fine household furnishings and rugs.. even a coin and stamp collection! With over 50 years of carefully curated items, this sale is a treasure trove of timeless elegance and style.”

Hoffman’s daughter is a familiar face — Gina Miller, longtime sportscaster who serves as the VP of media and communication for FC Dallas. “She was an ’80s party girl,” Miller told WFAA. “We had the Dallas ballet perform here in our front yard in the ’80s…she had quite the circle from Larry Hagman to Wayne Newton.”

Indeed! The first performance of the Dallas Ballet took place in the estate’s formal gardens.

When Mrs. Hoffman passed in February 2024, Miller posted these touching photos of the woman who “truly lived her best life” as a “true Dallas original.”
