A quick way to make new friends is to create something they want and make it extremely affordable. HiFAB, the stylish pre-fabricated housing brand based in North Texas, is making more new friends with each passing day thanks to the impact they are having on the affordable housing market. They are proof that beauty and comfort don’t have to be sacrificed with a smaller footprint.

These are not your ordinary homes — and their customers wouldn’t have it any other way. One such customer is Mark Childers, who recently purchased a two-bedroom, two-bath hacienda for his ranch property in Novice, Texas, just south of Abilene.

“I found HiFAB through a significant search evaluating various pre-fab homes for our ranch,” Childers said. “I have always been a fan of Lake | Flato Architects, and when I discovered they designed the house along with Brent Jackson, I was hooked.”

HiFAB’s new model hacienda is open for tours at the company’s manufacturing plant in Grand Prairie.

HiFAB is High Style Made in Texas

The San Antonio-based architecture firm and Jackson’s Oaxaca Interests in Dallas recently opened the HiFAB plant in Grand Prairie. The new plant has made building an affordable, modern, prefabricated home a reality — and they’ve made the process fun. Not only are they building homes, but HiFAB works with clients much like a custom home builder, consulting with buyers from start to finish.

Brent Jackson, HiFAB’s founder/owner/president, takes pride in the value his company offers with their two-bedroom homes starting at $349,000, and three-bedrooms at $449,000. The designs range in size from just over 1,300 to just under 1,900 square feet. This includes the whole shebang — from designing to on-site construction.

Additionally, buyers can even design their own home online. Then they tell HiFAB where they want it placed, and voila! They move in and start enjoying a life of comfort with plenty of money left over to add all the special touches you want to make it your own unique space.

Childers, a 26-year veteran of law enforcement in the Secret Service, likes the affordability HiFAB brings to people. A simple $5,000 deposit gets the process started.

“I was inspired by Brent’s passion and vision to create modern, sustainable housing for first responders,” he said.

For Childers, the process began with him expressing an interest in HiFAB about a year and a half ago. Today, his home is in the final stages of construction with a completion date of May 1.

And yes, he is extremely satisfied with HiFAB.

“Brent and his team have been very responsive and timely with their services.  They have a good system in place from start to finish,” he said. “We have been extremely satisfied with their home build and customer service.”

And if someone else is looking for a home without breaking the proverbial bank, Childers said they need only look at HiFAB.

“I highly recommend their homes in terms of fit and finish, quality, and aesthetics.  It’s a very cool ranch house!” Childers said enthusiastically. “We appreciate the HiFAB commitment to excellence. We are very discerning buyers and we are extremely content with our new HiFAB home.”

Like potato chips, the only question is, once you have one HiFAB home, can you make room for another?

“If we decide to add another home to the ranch,” Childers added, “it will definitely be from HiFAB.”
