A Private Oasis in the Heart of Dallas You Probably Never Knew Was There

Sometimes we say that homes are nestled in a neighborhood when in reality, they’re neatly tucked into a cul-de-sac. Or we’ll mention a home is private, when really it just has a great fence and generous space between homes. So what makes the Santa Barbara-style estate at 5810 Park Lane so truly tucked away and private? It is literally nestled between Preston and the Tollway in the heart of Dallas’ most prestigious neighborhood, Old Preston Hollow, but driving by you’d never know this exceptional 1.8-acre estate, nor this quiet little residential block of Park Lane even existed.

The 9,337-square-foot home was custom-built by Dallas luxury builder Sharif Munir. Not to fawn, but Sharif Munir does not make ugly homes. Own a Munir home and that’s pretty much a guarantee it’s a masterpiece of craftsmanship and design. But let’s talk about nature’s own special design surrounding this home.

This estate is one of a kind, sitting on 1.8 acres of gorgeous park-like grounds. Here you have striking views from every inch of the verdant lawn. Views of what? Mostly trees and your own grand estate because this corner-lot home is well-surrounded by four insulating walls of mature, towering trees.

“It’s a truly exceptional estate with mature oak trees and blooming magnolias that create a serene park-like setting,” listing agent Juli Black of Allie Beth Allman and Associates said. “This property offers unparalleled privacy and seclusion. I feel honored to be representing such a remarkable property that must be seen to be fully appreciated.”

You’ll feel like you’re in your own private country club or better yet, a resort with a full-size lighted tennis court, a sparkling saltwater pool and spa, a gated motor court, and a porte cochere to boot. Here you’ll always pull up in style.

As soon as you walk into the grand foyer, your eyes will be drawn up to the double-height barrel ceiling. Scan back down and you’ll find tasteful columns, design-inspired coffered ceilings, warm inlay tile floors, and hardwoods. The hand-carved mantles and fireplace surrounds add a touch of elegance to this beautiful home and will dare you not to touch them.

The great room is a showstopper, with ceilings of dramatic wood and walls of glass that showcase the sparkling pool and lushly-landscaped grounds. Something about this room feels very Southwestern Ralph Lauren and I love it.

You can cozy up by one of the three indoor fireplaces, or step outside to the patio with an outdoor kitchen and another fireplace. It’s one of several outdoor dining options with an alluring backdrop for exceptional indoor-outdoor entertaining with family and friends, or a pretty perfect setting for meditative mornings alone with a cup of coffee.

Back inside, the kitchen is warm and inviting, fully equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, ample custom cabinetry, and a walk-in pantry. Enjoy breakfast in the sunny breakfast nook or host dinner parties in the elegant formal dining room that features coffered ceilings and a hand-carved mantle, hallmarks of this Munif-designed home.

The primary suite is a nice retreat, with a sitting area, a private balcony, and a fireplace that can be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors. The spa-like bathroom offers dual vanities, a jetted tub, a separate shower, and two walk-in closets. The other bedrooms are also generous in size and have their own ensuite bathrooms. Whether you’re curling up with a good book, enjoying a glass of wine by the fire, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, this primary bedroom is sure to impress.

The second-floor guest suites are designed to accommodate both family members and guests comfortably. Each suite features an en-suite bathroom, with one boasting an oversized terrace overlooking the backyard and pool. The other two suites share a charming terrace, providing a lovely view of the circle drive.

I know everyone says it, but this home really is perfect for entertaining with a climate-controlled wine cellar that can hold nearly 1,000 bottles. This is the perfect place to store your favorite wines and enjoy them with friends and family. There is also a stunning home theater (Yes! It’s possible) with custom lighting and stadium seating for 12 guests and a game room with a wet bar.

A handsome private study with wood-paneled built-ins, a generous kid’s playroom, and a convenient laundry center round out the home’s rooms. The home also features extensive landscape lighting, Control 4 Smart Home features, Lutron lighting, a security system, two garages with covered parking for five cars, and something you wouldn’t expect to make such an impact — an elevator.

“While this property may only be two levels, the convenience of having an elevator cannot be overstated,” Black said. “It’s a nice-to-have that makes moving heavy items or luggage a breeze and ensures that all guests can access almost every part of the home with ease.”

This home is located in Old Preston Hollow, one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Dallas, so you’ll never want for shopping, dining, entertainment, or access to major highways to get anywhere, really.

Juli Black of Allie Beth Allman and Associates has listed 5810 Park Lane in Dallas for $8.95 million.
