Exciting developments are in the works for Mansfield.

The Dallas-Fort Worth suburb sits in Tarrant, Johnson, and Ellis counties, with highways 287, 360, and 1187 paving the way in and out of the city. That’s a good thing because Mansfield is about to have a whole lot more going on.

Wildcat Management, owned by Tanya Ragan, is launching Castle Ranch, a new project in Mansfield. With groundbreaking expected in 2024, this $150 million mixed-used development will offer a new planned environment. The proposed design will include townhomes, retail, and workspaces, along with small parks, walkable streets, sidewalks, and pedestrian pathways.

Plans for Castle Ranch, located on the western side of the town, were launched after city taxpayers’ approval in November of 2022. The proposed district will include an entirely new planned development that will link to the city’s trail system, an adjacent dog park, and a city park. The project, one of Mansfield’s largest contiguous parcels of land, is located within walking distance to downtown, entertainment, shopping, and restaurants.

Ragan: Mansfield is a ‘Special’ Town

Ragan has worked in the Mansfield area for more than a decade and sees Castle Ranch as an opportunity to improve the community she considers special.

“I’ve really had an opportunity to see that city change and evolve,” she said. “I feel very much a closeness to Mansfield and the western side of town. I feel like there’s an opportunity to really make an impact and be a visionary in having a project and making a difference on the side of town that’s been underserved.

Mansfield has an estimated population of approximately 75,000. The Mansfield Independent School District boasts 49 schools serving more than 35,000 students with more than 100 languages spoken in the school system. Calls to the City of Mansfield concerning the development were not returned.

Wildcat Management Puts Historic Building on Market

Ragan, who maintains offices in both Dallas and Wisconsin, recently announced the sale of a signature project, the historic Purse Building in Dallas. The six-floor Chicago Italianate-style building was built in 1905. The building’s 65,000 square feet have been restored with original pine floors, brick walls and updated with modern fixtures and amenities.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building sits across the street from historic sites Dealey Plaza and the book depository. The Purse Building’s history includes serving as FBI headquarters during the investigation of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

The Purse Building, a historic structure built in 1905, recently hit the market after a major renovation.

“The Purse Building is on a special side of history,” the developer said of the building that sat empty for three decades. “She got a facelift, and she’s a beauty now. Being able to play a role in that has been amazing.”

Ragan has served as owner and president of Wildcat Management, a real estate investment, development, and management company, for more than 19 years. A native of Wisconsin, she holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin with an emphasis in business and marketing. Ragan credits iconic retailer Neiman Marcus with launching her career.
