JANMAR STUNNER ON HALF AN ACRE WITH CUSTOM OUTDOOR LIVING DESIGN

Open house: Saturday, Aug. 18, 2-5 p.m.

Sitting on a 0.47-acre corner lot in the coveted Janmar neighborhood, the house at 11766 Valleydale Dr. is one visual delight after another. It was built in 1958 and taken to the studs in 2014 for a complete reimagination and results are stunning. It has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half bath, and 3,092 square feet on one story, located near Forest Lane and Hillcrest Road.

The exterior in front and back is heavily treed and extensively landscaped, created an urban oasis. That is a focal point in the living room, kitchen, and master, all of which have beautiful views. The kitchen is a dream with quartz and marble countertops, glass backsplash, an oversized island, breakfast bar, two sinks, pot filler, and high-end stainless steel appliances, including a six-burner Wolf range and dual ovens, one of which is convection. All four bathrooms were remodeled and the master ensuite bath has dual sinks, a large frameless glass shower, and walk-in closets. In back, find a custom saltwater infinity-edge swimming pool and hot tub, as well as a large deck with gas fire feature, outdoor kitchen, built-in refrigerator, and gas grill.

This home was listed July 6 by Carol Thompson with Keller Williams Realty Plano for $1.3 million, reduced to $1.1 million

VICKERY PLACE TUDOR HIGHLIGHTED ON NEIGHBORHOOD HOME TOUR

Open house: Sunday, Aug. 19, 1-3 p.m.

The 1926 Tudor at 5219 Goodwin Ave. was highlighted on the 2016 Vickery Place Home Tour and is an architecturally significant house in the neighborhood. Recent era-appropriate updates look marvelous throughout, from the flagstone path in front to the entryway with custom leaded glass. This home has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two dining areas, and 2,098 square feet on two stories.

The beveled glass front doors open to a covered porte-cochère. The owners removed an interior wall, replaced windows, and heightened the ceilings, creating a light, timeless look, especially with the narrow oak hardwood floors. What a delight, then, to walk into the kitchen and see how they made something modern work with the aesthetic: quartzite countertops, center island, soft-close drawers, Elfa storage, and stainless steel appliances, including a commercial-grade Viking range and wine cooler. The large master has an ensuite bath with jetted tub and walk-in shower. Two other bedrooms also have their own bathrooms. In back, the owners added a two-car garage with storage in 2015 and the outdoor living includes a pergola-covered deck, a privacy fence, and plenty of grassy green space.

This home was listed Aug. 13 by Blair Hudson with Allie Beth Allman & Assoc. for $650,000.

It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, and 2,045 square feet on one story, built in 1961.

The curb appeal is crisp with painted brick, new shutters, a red door, and mature tree. Inside is one great room for the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The kitchen offers granite countertops, white Shaker-style cabinets, an island with breakfast bar, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. Hardwoods extend to three of the bedrooms and the master has a large walk-in closet and an updated ensuite bathroom with granite countertops.
