CREST HAVEN PLACE CLEAN-LINED CONTEMPORARY WITH SOARING CEILINGS

Open house: Sunday, May 20, 2-4 p.m.

The Crest Haven Place house at 8414 Ridgelea St. in Northwest Dallas is clean-lined and contemporary with high ceilings and lots of bells and whistles, all for under a million bucks. It has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half bath, three living areas, two dining areas, and 4,911 square feet on two stories, built in 2007.

The open floorplan highlights the sleek design, made even more lovely by huge windows that flood the space with natural light. The kitchen features a Viking cooktop, Thermador ovens, custom cabinets, an island, and stainless steel appliances, including a wine fridge. Sliding doors open onto great outdoor space for entertaining in the landscaped backyard with eco-friendly artificial turf. All bedrooms have walk-in closets and the entire home is equipped with surround sound wiring. A spacious third living area has built-ins and a bar and the second level has a fully equipped media room.

This home was listed May 8 by Jean Pennant with RE/MAX Premier Group for $950,000.

ONE-OF-A-KIND BENT TREE ROYAL CONTEMPORARY, REDUCED $86K

Open house: Sunday, May 20, 1-3 p.m.

The home at 17310 Club Hill Dr. has contemporary architecture and million-dollar views through walls of windows. The Bent Tree Royal neighborhood is tucked away between two creeks with winding streets and lots of mature trees. This home has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half bath, two living areas, two dining areas, and 4,557 square feet on two stories, built in 1980.

This incredibly unusual home features a 55-foot entry gallery with a formal sitting or music area and dramatic opposing skylights. A wall of windows overlooks a private courtyard and the house has sweeping views of the 15th fairway of Bent Tree, White Rock Creek, and Preston Trail Golf Course. The updated kitchen is a dream with a butler’s pantry, granite countertops, and a Thermador Professional Series six-burner gas cooktop, along with dual dishwashers, ovens, and sinks. The family room has a large gas fireplace and media center — the full house sound system with speakers has its main hub here. The master suite features dual baths, walk-in closet, and dressing area with six built-in lighted double wardrobe closets. The large private courtyard spans the length of the gallery cantilevered stairs and landings lead down to the lower covered patio and the golf course.

This home was listed Feb. 5 by Jacqui Bloomquist with Coldwell Banker Apex, Realtors for $935,000, reduced to $849,000. HOA fees are $600 quarterly.

WILSHIRE HEIGHTS TRADITIONAL ON CORNER LOT WITH BIG UPDATES

Open house: Sunday, May 20, 2-4 p.m.

We fell in love with the Wilshire Heights corner lot house at 6347 Anita St. first for its location near Mockingbird and Abrams, but then for its updated good looks. This home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 1,512 square feet on one story, built in 1949.

Located near the M Streets and Lakewood, this house sits on coveted dirt, but this house is well under half a million dollars. It is right on Abrams, but has new noise-cancelling windows that make it quiet inside, where it is also light and airy. Hardwood floors run through all the rooms and the roof and HVAC have been recently replaced. In the kitchen, find white cabinets, granite countertops, glass tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. The three bedrooms are good sized and the master has an ensuite bath. In back, find a two-car detached garage, fire pit, privacy fence, and large pecan trees. Bonus for families: this house is in the attendance zone for the exemplary Stonewall Jackson Elementary School.

This home was listed May 12 by Lynn Stofer with RE/MAX Premier Group for $475,000.
