Share News:

The North Texas real estate market is full of hot properties, and we spend a lot of time obsessing over every beautiful and impressive detail we find.

That’s why the CandysDirt.com Open Houses of the Week column is such a pleasure to write. We get to write about one, two, three properties you’ve got to see this weekend.

This week, our houses range in price from $285,000 to $799,999 and you’ll find an Oak Lawn townhome with a to-die-for rooftop deck, a Richardson Heights renovated cutie, and an under-$300K ranch. Tell us which one is your favorite and if you’re visiting!

OAK LAWN TOWNHOME LIVING WITH ROOFTOP HOT TUB DECK AND SKYLINE VIEWS

Open house: Saturday, March 31, 1-3 p.m.

Urban living is sexy and sleek in the Oak Lawn loft at 3911 Gilbert Ave. Apt E. It’s hard to know where to look, there’s so much to take in, from the soaring ceilings and 200-bottle wine chiller to the private rooftop deck with a hot tub, fire table, built-in stainless steel grill, ice maker, and refrigerator. Oh, and there are those panoramic views of Dallas, too. This townhome has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bath, two living areas, two dining areas, and 2,813 square feet on three stories, built in 2003.

The kitchen features two full size-ranges, granite countertops, large island, and lots of cabinets. The master suite has massive windows, a fireplace, refrigerator drawers, walk-in closet, and tons of storage. Green features include double pane windows and a tankless water heater.

This Oak Lawn townhome was listed March 28 by Graeme Ross with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty for $799,999. Monthly HOA dues are $100 and include exterior maintenance.

RICHARDSON HEIGHTS RENOVATED HOME, REDUCED $10K

Open house: Saturday, March 31, 2-4 p.m.

The Richardson Heights house at 7830 La Sobrina Dr. is actually in Dallas, near West Arapaho Road and North Coit Road. This home has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bath, two living areas, and 2,347 square feet on one story, built in 1968.

The kitchen is the hear of this home, renovated with granite countertops, breakfast bar, white soft-close cabinets, grey subway tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. This is open to one living area and hardwoods run through the common areas. In the main living area, there’s a wood-burning fireplace. The bedrooms have fresh carpet and the master has a sliding contemporary barn door leafing to the ensuite bath, which offers a double vanity and walk-in closet. Bonus: this property is zoned for Richardson ISD and the highly rated Bowie Elementary.

This home was listed March 3 by Jhon Garcia with JP & Associates Plano for $449K, reduced to $439,000.

HILLVIEW TERRACE REMODELED RANCH WITH SLEEK GOOD LOOKS

Open house: Saturday, March 31, 2-4 p.m.

Deep in the heart of East Dallas is the Hillview Terrace neighborhood — transitional with a lot of quite affordable houses. It’s a short drive to White Rock Lake and the area is growing in popularity. The renovated ranch-style house at 2346 Freeland Way shines as one of the best in the neighborhood with mature trees, our bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bath, two living areas, two dining areas, and 2,188 square feet on one story, built in 1968. (Check out the Matterport interactive tour here!)

Sleek good looks and an on-trend color palette of grays and whites make the house contemporary, contrasting beautifully with laminate floors that look like the real deal. The floorplan is a traditional ranch with a front living and dining room, a second living room behind that with a fireplace, and a galley eat-in kitchen. They’ve made the most of it with updated finishes and fixtures. The kitchen features white cabinetry, granite countertops, white subway tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. Nearby is a half bath that also functions as the utility room and a small bedroom with a sliding barn door that’s being used as a home office. Both full baths are Jack-and-Jill and the bedrooms all have fresh carpeting. In back, a sunroom leading out to the good-sized backyard — this house sits on a quarter acre.

This home was listed March 23 by Charles Fansler with Redfin Corporation for $285,000.
