John Larson, American Real Estate Investments

For folks not interested in riding the ups and downs of the stock market, John Larson may have the answer. Larson serves as Managing Partner of American Real Estate Investments. His nine-to-five consists of connecting investors with tangible, low-maintenance investments aimed at allowing its clients to “sit back and collect a check each month.”

American Real Estate Investments describes themselves as a turnkey real estate provider, meaning Larson’s firm buys properties, renovates them with higher-end materials, sells them to investors as rental properties, and then places tenants and manages the day-to-day business of renting. It’s a full-service operation for Larson’s clients.

“We’re basically like their partners on the investments from the time they purchase them, until the time they decide to sell, if they ever do,” Larson said. “We have a professional management company. Plus, we have investor concierges that reach out to the client monthly to make sure they receive their check, make sure they don’t have any questions about their statement, things of that nature. We always stay in contact.”

Despite Inventory Challenges, Dallas Delivers

When it came to investing in Dallas properties, Larson says that was a no-brainer. Despite facing challenges in inventory, Larson says Dallas’ strong economy keeps prices relatively affordable in this market. “Twelve hundred people a day move to Texas,” he said. “The reason we migrated here [from the Midwest], is the same reason everybody did. There are jobs, there’s opportunity, there’s people, there’s growth. If I’m looking to invest in a rental property, why wouldn’t I go to the markets where the most people are moving?”

“Something I Truly Believe in”

As Larson explains it, investment in higher-end rental properties provides a long-term wealth strategy for investors interested in building a legacy. His clients often have portfolios containing dozens upon dozens of homes that bring in monthly income.

“In my opinion, it’s a really great investment model,” Larson said. “It’s something that I truly believe in. It’s something I do myself.”

Ultimately, he says the reliability and the concrete nature of the investment are most appealing for his clients.“Real estate is tangible. It’s something you can touch. Something you know. It’s very easy for the investor to understand. People always need a roof over their heads, so I look as these investments almost like they’re recession proof.”

John Larson started in real estate at the age of 17 flipping houses with his family. He worked on the crews doing manual labor and learned what it took to properly renovate a home. His passion for real estate and his clients makes John a leader in single family rental community.
