Friday Five Hundred: McKinney is a Great Place to Live, And Here’s Why
Share News:
Sure, it’s a little bit further north than most of its suburban brethren, but the drive to McKinney is worth it if you’re looking for great government, good schools, fantastic parks, and more house for your money. The perfect example is this stone-and-brick beauty listed by Ebby Halliday Realtor Katherine Niesman in the Village Creek subdivision.
It is a wonderful family home, right off of Eldorado Parkway, too. It’s spacious, open, and priced right. It’s homes like this that remind us why Money Magazine ranked McKinney as the best place to live last year.

With 4,974 square feet, this five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home at 2605 Eldorado Parkway is large enough for an active family. This is the house that hosts holiday gatherings, with three fireplaces, four living areas, and two dining areas that will keep you cozy and yet give you some space to breathe. It’s on the market for $569,000. Considering what you get, that’s not bad at all. Of course, if you’re not into beige, you’ll have a lot of painting to do. Otherwise, I love the finishes in this home. It’s very classic!
The kitchen opens to the main living areas, which are ample with high ceilings. Custom cabinetry, high-end granite and Thermador appliances give it a wonderful feel and functionality. There’s a breakfast area, an eat-in bar, and a fantastic butlers pantry. The master suite is down, as well as a smaller bedroom, with the other three bedrooms up. The master is enormous, with tall ceilings and a huge fireplace. The master bath is equally large and sports a jetted tub, dual vanities, and a separate shower.
The media room is pre-wired and is spacious, and there’s an additional gameroom. A homework station is a wonderful addition, too.
