15 Canyon Crest FrontYou ever wonder why people say that they moved to the suburbs to get more for their money, and then they spend hundreds each year on tolls to get to and from work? Yeah, me too.

However, I do love that you can get what would be a $2 million home in Dallas for $549,000 in Frisco’s upscale Stonebriar. At 15 Canyon Crest Court, you get five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, more than 4,000 square feet and a huge pool.

15 Canyon Crest Foyer

This is in the Denton County side of Frisco, if that makes any difference to you, and there’s a monthly homeowner’s association fee of $180, which seems about right for the area. Built in 1993, this home has formals galore and super tall ceilings. There’s a winding staircase in the foyer, and from that lofty perch you can really admire the polished stone floors.

15 Canyon Crest Kitchen

The kitchen features granite countertops, custom cabinetry, a built-in refrigerator, and a huge island. The appliances look to be original to the home, so other than the refrigerator, you’ll probably want to update. Other than that, despite the home’s 20 year age, it doesn’t feel too dated.

15 Canyon Crest Den

The kitchen opens up to a large den with a stone fireplace and a TV console that doesn’t accomodate the newer, larger plasma TVs. I’m sure there’s a solution for that, so don’t be discouraged! You get a lovely view of the backyard, too, and those huge windows let in tons of light.

15 Canyon Crest Master

The master suite is on the first floor, and well, it’s gigantic at 24 x 15. That’s plenty of room for whatever oversized furniture you have and a few comfy chairs where you can hide from the kids every now and again.

15 Canyon Crest Master Bath

The master bath has brass fixtures, but otherwise is very clean and modern. It’s a five-piece bath with a soaking tub and his-and-hers vanities. I am not a fan of faux finishes, so I would definitely paint, but to each his own.

15 Canyon Crest Balcony

There’s a bonus room upstairs that the owners are using for a home gym that would make Tony Horton proud. It leads to a really fantastic balcony that overlooks the backyard.

15 Canyon Crest Pool

The backyard is mostly pool, really. There’s a loggia where you can grill and hang out when you’re not diving into the pool or relaxing in the spa. Really, for $549,000, this home has pretty much everything you want.
