It’s not something you expect to find on a buyer’s list of “must haves,” but this backyard is the perfect site for an epic Easter egg hunt.

Our privilege, as adults, is to turn the tables on Easter. You see, when I was growing up as the youngest of five kids in a Houston suburb, Easter was the morning of a humidity-soaked blood sport, when all five of us kids would careen through my parents’ sizable and heavily treed backyard in an effort to snatch the most Easter eggs from the most bizarre places. Bird feeders, tree limbs, fence posts — all were fair game. Afterward, we’d get dressed in our Easter togs and head to church. When we’d return home, my father would take the hard-boiled-and-pastel-dyed eggs and make a rainbow-colored potato salad to go with our Easter ham. The boasting of who snatched the most Easter eggs continued through the day.

So maybe your shift as the Easter bunny won’t be as competitive as it was when I was growing up, but our Inwood National Bank Home of the Week is perfect for hunting Easter eggs as it has a fantastic side yard and backyard on more than a third of an acre, complete with a pool! In fact, Jenny Capritta, listing agent for 9512 Milltrail Drive, says that this property is an Easter egg all in itself as it is rare to find a Lake Highlands Home with such a sizable lot and a pool.

8705 Vinewood Front

They are flying off the market, folks! If you are looking for a home in the White Rock Lake area in the $200K range, you have to move faster than the Man of Steel! I swear when I first saw 8705 Vinewood last night while I was surfing for today’s Tuesday Two Hundred, it was still on the open market. Today it’s under option contract!

8705 Vinewood Living

Still, as Candy says, it’s not over until the ink dries! This house is a total cutie, too. It’s big enough for a small family, small enough for empty nesters, and perfect for an aspiring weekend warrior who wants enough small projects to put in a little sweat equity. And it’s priced at just $229,000!

8705 Vinewood Diing

There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 1,580 square feet in this 1954 traditional in Little Forest Hills. The listing says it’s in “Casa Linda/Casa View,” but technically, since it’s over the railroad tracks and north of Lakeland, it’s in the LFH area. Vinewood is a secluded street that feels really private and doesn’t get too much through traffic. You’re super close to White Rock Lake and the Arboretum, too.

8705 Vinewood Kitchen

This house has a cute little kitchen with a breakfast nook, which does still have the washer and dryer nearby. Actually, consider it a convenience — you can fold clothes on your breakfast table straight out of the dryer! Perfect!

8705 Vinewood Master Bath

The master bath has been remodeled with a frameless shower enclosure and a small single vanity. It’s a little small, but hey, it’s cute! I’ll take it! The second bath, however, still features the original two-tone Daltile in an interesting palette of pink and burgundy. That’s where your sweat equity will come in!

So what do you think? Is the east side of White Rock Lake the hottest market in Dallas for the $200K range? Where else should people be on the look out?
