As time goes by, one of my favorite things about summer in East Dallas has gone from Saturday afternoon at the Fraternal Order of Eagles pool to hanging out at the house, listening to a ball game on the radio with my son and husband, and doing some light gardening. Truly, outdoor entertaining is great, too, but as the summer goes on, there’s one scourge that is sure to keep me indoors: mosquitoes.

That’s why this fantastic ranch in Lochwood Meadows appeals to me. Not only does it have a great floor plan with cozy spaces and an extremely great location, but it has a screened porch in the back that is perfect for summer dinners and baseball on the radio. Inside 11017 Carissa Dr. in Lochwood Meadows, you’ll find out just why this listing from White Rock Lake expert Jenny Capritta is our Inwood National Bank Home of the Week.

It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, and we just can’t believe our luck. Not only were we able to find a truly high-caliber home to feature this week, but this huge house in Cedar Hill is so wonderfully secluded and private, with nature on all sides and a backyard that’s perfect for kids that we couldn’t ignore it.

What’s not to love about 2424 Amberleaf Court, a listing from David Griffin and Company Realtors agent Lori Ericsson in the Lake Ridge subdivision. It’s such a stellar family home, complete with everything you could want and nothing you don’t — like neighbors! It’s another fantastic High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans.

“It’s a fun house located in Cedar Hill,” Ericsson said. “It has a family friendly floorplan with dual staircases, master bedroom downstairs, three bedrooms and a fantastic media room upstairs.”

That sounds like the perfect layout for epic family gatherings and slumber parties all year! Want to try your luck? Find out more about this gem after the jump:

When I saw this charming 1938 Hollywood Santa Monica Tudor, I didn’t even recognize it as the same adorable cottage, at 6804 Vivian Avenue, that I’d written about three years ago. Then there’s the unique domed living room ceiling with a diamond center — equally memorable — and it was on the Hollywood Heights Home Tour in 2007.

What was the subtle, yet major change that had been made to make this home completely different?

In January 2013, my Hubby and I were frantically looking for a house as our Preston Hollow condo was under contract in 3 days to a cash buyer (HOORAY!!!). I fell in love the minute I saw this Briarwood cottage and the For Sale sign out in front of 5118 Stanford Avenue.
