You’ll want for nothing in this perfectly situated, three-story townhome inside the gated and secure Uptown development of Cascada.

When Phillip Murrell told me he had a new listing, of course I was intrigued. This go-getting Dave Perry-Miller agent has been representing some amazing properties lately, so I had to know what was going to be hitting MLS soon. Murrell offered me a chance to tour his latest, but only proffered a single photo of the property — the foyer.

And let me say that a single photo of the gorgeous entryway was all it took to get me on my way to 3338 Blackburn Ave., our High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. If you love luxurious urban living in one of the best locations in all of Dallas, then you, like me, will probably be hooked on this home from the very start.

The foyer of 3338 Blackburn Ave. offers a dramatic geometric floor fashioned of Bardiglio marble.

205 Pecan front

There’s a special place in my heart for 1990s contemporary architecture. Fun lines and colors, interesting shapes, it’s all really whimsical like this townhome at 205 Pecan Street near downtown Fort Worth’s Sundance Square. You might think that, inside, you’ll see a lot of black laquer furniture and Mondrian look-alike paintings, sleek stainless steel and exposed concrete and brick.

Boy are you in for a trip!

3380 blackburn living

I have long wanted to start a series on the private homes of Dallas real estate agents. Let’s consider this the first post! This is the private home of Briggs Freeman’s Missy Woehr, a dear friend. When she’s not selling sleek condos at Museum Tower, this is where Missy lives with her husband, Gus, also a licensed agent. I think Missy has probably sold every unit at the Cascada.

This is an elegant three bedroom, three and two half bath townhouse built in 2003. With 4166 square feet, this 3-story home is spacious, secure and has a study that could be a fourth bedroom in case you have a houseful.  The floor plan is one of the best I’ve seen, and there is an elevator BUT! There is also a guest room on the first floor. I remember Missy telling me about this last January when my mother-in-law was visiting, my husband was recuperating from a knee replacement, and I needed a first floor guest room. 3380 Blackburn is a home that has been upgraded and planned to the T with top grade materials, comfort and ease of living in mind. OK, I may not understand it, but not everyone likes a loft. Some people want more walls to hang their art, more crown moulding, more niches and nooks. But don’t you want to live in one of Dallas’ coolest neighborhoods, right next to the redeveloping Dallas Farmers Market, close to the vibrant Cedars, and within walking distance of downtown and Deep Ellum? Who wouldn’t?

If this sounds like you, then you’ll adore this townhome at 912 S. Cesar Chavez Blvd. This gorgeous townhome was built in 2006 and is absolutely pristine inside. It has three stories, three bedrooms, three full and one half bath, more than 2,600 square feet, and a tremendous rooftop deck from which you can admire the fireworks in Fair Park during holidays.

Lexington park

I always dreamed of moving into downtown Dallas, but there just doesn’t seem to be much in the way of family-friendly properties with the amenities I want in the price point our family can appreciate. Still, I love the idea of urban living, being close to shops and restaurants, and having quick access to mass transit.

Normally you won’t find things like this if you have an address in the suburbs, so color me surprised when we stumbled across the townhomes of Lexington Park at Rice Field.

Priced in the $200,000 range, these townhomes have excellent finish-out and tons of great features. There are five different floorplans available ranging from 2,126 to 2,351 square feet, including both 3/2/2 and 3/3/2 units.

I love the master bath in the model unit, which you can see in the very neat video above. Seriously, the Branch Team did an excellent job marketing this new development!
