That, to me at least, is a pretty good deal considering that you’re close to Firewheel Town Center, Lake Ray Hubbard, Interstate 30 and 635, and a partridge in a pear tree.
OK, you don’t get a partridge in a pear tree, but you do get a fully renovated home with hand-scraped hardwoods, fresh tile, and a perfect paint job if you sign on the dotted line for 2126 Hollow Way in Garland. There’s a stone fireplace in the den, too, and everything is open and has a great flow. There’s plenty of light, too, thanks to some strategically placed windows.
The kitchen is fantastic. It has granite counters, stainless appliances, and a gigantic breakfast bar. I’m not crazy about the oak cabinets. I really think a cherry or even walnut would’ve looked better with the bright tile and dark counters. Still, it’s new, it’s functional, and there’s plenty of room for a family to make messes and clean up together.
The master bedrooms is … a bedroom. No exciting details here, save for the arched window over the bed and the chair rail. I do like the double doors leading to the master bath. That is a great detail that allows for a larger door frame without the wide berth you need for a full-sized door.
There’s a five-piece bath in the master bathroom, and because this home was built in 2007, there’s nary a brass fixture in sight. There are two separate vanities that face opposing walls — a great feature to maximize space and minimize morning contact before coffee.
The backyard is an OK size. It’s small, but that’s mostly because all the backyards in newer subdivisions are. It’ll be great for a gardener who wants a blank slate, and there’s a covered porch from which you can admire your work.
