Exquisite Chateau Du Lac Mansion Will Host Next CandysDirt.com Staff Party | CandysDirt.com

If you’re ready to have your jaw hit the floor, make plans for our next CandysDirt.com Staff Party on July 14. It will be a progressive affair looking at two exquisite properties and today, I want to show you the first, a massive Chateau Du Lac mansion in Flower Mound.

Located at 5905 Giverny, this 14,906-square-foot manse sits on 8.34 acres, walking distance to Grapevine Lake. The gated homesite offers the utmost privacy and security while also affording the homeowner multiple lifestyle and entertainment options, including the ability to have both a helipad and horses!

Some of the features — and I could go on and on — include a ten-car garage, eight beautifully appointed bedrooms, a wine cellar that doubles as safe room, two full kitchens, a dining hall that can accommodate 28, and a pond with a well house and mill.

Our staff party will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, and you can RSVP here. I’ll have another post on the second property later this week. In the meantime, you’ve got to see this one!

It’s a Dallas tradition to honor mom and her commitment to her family and career (and all those dang peanut butter and jelly sandwiches she made and stories she read to you, even when she said she would only read one book and ended up reading five) with a special weekend at the Swiss Avenue Mother’s Day Home Tour.

This unique event showcases the lovely historic homes for which this neighborhood is known, and offers a fantastic marketplace and lovely tea that mom will appreciate even if it will take years and years to make up for that phase of your teens where you were a moody jerk to her every dang day.

6807 Meadow Front

So, I had a plumbing disaster at my White Rock Lake-area postwar traditional, so I’m reporting from our Forney bureau today as a means of escape from a horde of noisy dryer fans and dehumidifiers.

6807 Meadow Entry

While the three of us (me, my husband, and my 20-month-old son) are far from cramped at the in-laws’ house, I kind of wish we were holed up in the guesthouse at 6807 Meadow Road. The main house is a sizable at 6,690 square feet, and considering that it was built in 1999, there’s not much you’ll need to do inside.

6807 Meadow Living

The guest quarters, which has three bedrooms, is just over 1,300 square feet. That would be the perfect place for visiting relatives or friends, or people who had a major plumbing leak over the weekend and are waiting for insurance to make up their minds on how much our budget is for temporary housing. I’m just saying, people.

6807 Meadow Den

The first floor, including the living area and entry way, feature soaring ceilings and tons of light, thanks to banks of windows. The staircase is carpeted, which you don’t seen very often anymore, but we should, because staircases often show much more wear than we realize. Imagine coming down stairs twice a day in heels and then imagine what the steps look like after about 2 years. They’ll have more divots than a golf course on Saturday!

6807 Meadow Kitchen

With a gorgeous kitchen that has two islands and beautiful built ins, a home theatre, six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and three half baths, three fireplaces and a built-in fish tank, this Hillcrest Park mansion is on the market for just $1.599 million. It’s a great bargain!

6807 Meadow master Bath

I think that my favorite thing about this home, besides of course the guest house, is the master bath. I love the soaking tub and the full-size shower, which has more control knobs than an aircraft! The leaded-glass window is a wonderful touch in the master suite, giving light but not letting your neighbor get a look at your nether-regions.

6807 Meadow Home Theatre

The HOA dues are $300 a month, and you’ll find that this listing is in a fantastic location, too. Just ask Preston Hollow expert Lydia Player, one of the great Ebby Halliday agents representing this property. You’re just a stone’s-throw from Hillcrest, which will give you access to all the great shopping along Northwest Highway and in Preston Center.

6807 Meadow Back

What do you think?

Holy mackerel. I was staring at these photos of Celine Dion’s insane $29.3 million mansion on her own private island outside of Montreal and I was a little overwhelmed … but it’s all coming back to me now. Tell me this: Does the French Normandy-style compound look a lot like the lost cousin of Champ d’Or or what?

The interiors of the multi-platinum diva’s estate are just as opulent, if not moreso, than Champ’s. I mean, if you’re into tons of silk, antiques, and gold-covered everything. And guess what, folks. Now that Celine’s got a regular gig in Vegas, she’s putting her crazy, crazy home on the market.

In all, the 24,000-square-foot mega mansion has three living rooms, three dining rooms (the formal can seat 18), a wine cellar, two master suites, an outdoor pool and guest house, and one heart … just kidding!

I wonder if the house, which includes art, linens, custom everything, and helipad if you can negotiate it, will sell at auction like Champ did. Heck, I’d love to buy it myself, but there’s a very short list of folks who can throw down that kind of dough, and that’s just the way it is.

Oh well. My heart will go on.

This stunning home at 7714 Fisher Road was built in 1994 but looks as timeless as a mansion overlooking the Pacific in Pebble Beach. You have almost one super landscaped acre, yielding the upstairs Master with a large deck and perfect lake views. A classic floorplan offers  4169 square feet with three bedrooms, two and a half baths, three living areas and even, yes, columns. There is also a wine cellar, den, “bright” kitchen, and formals. About that “bright” kitchen: little early 1990’s feel to it, white cabinets and ceramic tile floors, but there is enough of a granite island slab to get in the “g-word”. This is a home where you will likely live outside, on three patios, and safely so: the driveway has a gated entrance so the dogs can roam free. Honestly, I just love the smooth lines of this house and with the incredible water views, it is very much like a home in Pebble Beach. Or, rather, excuse me, a mansion. Fraction of a Pebble Beach price tag, though, at $2,090,000.

Oh! Where’s the pool? At that price, I do at least want my own water.
