The Heather Guild Group has moved to Compass Real Estate. Guild said the decision was made after a careful evaluation of what kind of company they felt had the best tools and resources to help them serve their clients.

“We really felt Compass was a good blend of the time-tested agent/client relationship model of real estate, combined with the innovative technology that our clients have come to expect in every other aspect of their lives,” Guild said. “We are excited to have joined a real estate brokerage that is not only on pace with current technology but really has a vision for where real estate services are going.”

What Can You Buy In Lakewood for Under $1 Million? (Hint: It's a Lot!)

Lakewood rarely fails to delight when we’re talking about location. With White Rock Lake, the fun of East Dallas, fabulous neighborhoods, and proximity to downtown, what’s not to love?

But with that love comes a price tag. So today, I’ve found two great houses in Lakewood for well under a million dollars each. They’re move-in ready, but with flexible floorplans that could be expanded or reconfigured, too.

Both of these properties are walking distance to the coveted Lakewood Elementary, beloved in the community by parents and students alike. The blue-ribbon school is in the process of completing a long-planned 52,500-square-foot addition with lots of natural light and state-of-the-art technologies. This will serve roughly 1,000 students, almost double the previous amount. It’s just another reason people flock to Lakewood when they’re buying.

So let’s see these two houses, shall we?

Lakewood

One of the best traditions in Lakewood is the Fourth of July parade — an ode to the community, schools, and inside jokes on Facebook (Photos courtesy John and Heather Guild).

We moved to Dallas as newly married young professionals and bought our first home together in Oak Lawn; a darling townhome that served us well for many non-parental years.  When we had our son, we wanted more space in a neighborhood where he could grow and thrive with other children.

Dallas is full of these neighborhoods, but for us, Lakewood felt like home. (more…)

For the Most Discerning Buyer, this Lakewood Home Hits All the High Notes | CandysDirt.com

I’ve found a marvelous Lakewood home that’s perfect for the discerning buyer, with luxury amenities, a flexible floorplan, and fabulous location. Here’s a big bonus: It’s just been reduced $101K!

Located at 6910 Coronado Ave., it’s in the heart of Lakewood Hills on the southwest shores of White Rock Lake. I love this part of Lakewood.

“This home offers attention to detail at every turn and a high-end finish-out,” said listing agent Heather Guild with the Heather Guild Group of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. “I think it’s truly an exceptional property in one of the most desirable neighborhoods of Dallas.”

She’s right. With 12-foot ceilings, Austin stone exterior, and thoughtful spaces, this Lakewood home will please even the most discriminating person. It has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two living areas, and 4,334 square feet on two stories, built in 2013. It’s also zoned for Lakewood Elementary, which earns a “10” out of 10 from greatschools.org, making it perfect for a family.

Can I take you on a tour?

When you have an idea in your head, sometimes it sounds way more awesome rattling around in your brain than when it actually happens.

I’m happy to report that this was not the case last night. A steady stream of parents with children in Dallas ISD schools, Lakewood residents, Realtors and more came by the darling Tudor in Hollywood Heights to talk Dallas ISD schools with each other, yours truly, and newly-elected District 2 trustee Dustin Marshall.

Sometimes people just get it completely right when they put their home on the market. The updates are spot on, the colors are great and the house has just the right amount of furniture, so it’s not detracting from the architecture but enhancing it. I can tell you after having staged thousands of homes and after trolling through hundreds of homes each day on MLS to find something blog-worthy, that this is not the norm. So it’s more than refreshing when a picture-perfect home pops up on my screen, and 5635 Monticello is just that.

In fact, we’re sure that if we had to measure this home up, we’d get something like this:

Practically Perfect in Every Way
